-   Just add about a cup of white vinegar during the final rinse cycle. You can place a glass right side up that is already in the rack and fill it with the vinegar.

There is a new product out that actually filters the water going into your dishwasher. My dishes came out amazing after the first load. No more cloudy glasses. I was very impressed. Who knows whats in the water cleaning your dishes so i thought this filter was great. It is very affordable and you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com. Hope this helps some people.

magic... indicated that his solution for
24 in. 17842... Problem
is valid for all Dishwashers

I thought all dishwashing cleaners were the same,
tried pouches, tabs, gels, powder, etc.
Same 'ol cloudy glasses...

Until I stayed at my boyfriend's & saw how sparkly
his dishes/glasses were.., He was using Electrosol w/power
ball. I had used Electrosol tabs before, but not powerball.
I thought maybe he had a better model dishwasher, but nabbed
a powerball tab to test the theory.
Guess what?
It was the powerball!
Awesome stuff !!

Even better... I don't like to use the heated dry cycle &
usually pop the door open & let the dishes air dry.
The Electrosol made a huge diff there as well, no
water spots,
Nothin' but clear sparkly dishes & silverware.

Too bad that was the only cool benefit from that
boyfriend, LOL

Hope this helps

Cloudy glassware is not usually due to buildup of minerals, etc.

It is because the detergent is etching the glass.

This is usually caused by pre-rinsing. The enzymes in the detergent have to eat something. If there is no food present, they will eat glass.

Spotting is a different issue, and a rinse agent can help there.

Glassware can go cloudy depending on the chemical make up of the glass and the detergent used, also how many times they have been washed. Normally this is irreversible, but to prevent it happening in future you should consider trying to use a better quality detergent - a lot of new advances have been made in this area recently - and any other glasses you buy should be labelled as dishwasher safe or similar. The worst culprit is usually older glassware and especially crystal - buy one of several different glasses and try them for a month or so to see which works best.

Hope this helps

1. Set your cloudy glassware in a large pot or tub.
2. Fill the pot or tub with one part vinegar and one part warm water.
3. Soak the glassware for at least an hour - you may want to let it soak overnight if the problem is a tough one.
4. Scrub any remaining film with a plastic scrubber or brush.
5. Wash the glasses by hand.

I had this problem but I think it depends on the tablets you are using and also make sure that your drainage filter is clean. I find the new Finish 10 in 1 stop this and also Glist with "magic Vinegar" is very good at stopping this and can even be used with clear plastic which can be even worse for getting cloudy.
