Dvd player not responding

I plug up dvd player and install disk. Disk stops spinning in just seconds after loaded. Power button lights, disk in button lights up and play button lights but neither button will respond when pushed, neither will eject button respond. To remove the disk I must unplug wait several minutes then plug up and hit eject button fast to remove disk.
I've unplugged several times for 24 hours to reset but system still has same problem.
This is a Sanyo player Model: DWM-400

A typical reset is just unplugging the unit for 30+ minutes.

Sounds like your player has died. You could take it to a repair shop, but it is likely cheaper to just replace it.

With disk in, says no disk

Open up the cover of the dvd deck hook it up to ac outlet power up and and insert the cd, have a close look as the cd is loading. If your CD spin and the there is a red light coming or flickering from the back of the CD and the spins that means it needs CRC cleaner.
IF it spins and stop after 5 secs then it the motor that needed to changed.
If no light coming from the back of the CD then it a laser broblem.
Never run the DVD with no CD on as the light coming from the laser can cause blindness.

Screen comes on, disk turns, loading starts, and doesnt stop

With the power turned off, open the DVD Player, and then open the top where you load the DVD into the player. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that moves the laser diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a working unit again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this solution it might work for you.

DVD stopped working and cannot do setup.

You probably need to reset your DVD/VCR/Combo. Go to www.samsung.com. Go to <Support>. In the search box, type in the model of your DVD/VCR/Combo. Or type in, >how to reset DVD/VCR/Combo<. Each model has different reset method and there are hundreds of models!

853. How To Reset Your Samsung DVD Player STEP 1
STEP 1. DVD Reset List
Samsung DVD players have a built-in reset procedure that resets the DVD player to the factory defaults. You can use the reset procedure to reset settings that don’t work with your TV or to resolve issues such as unit lock up. To run the reset procedure, you press one or more buttons on the front of the DVD player and hold them for at least fifteen seconds. The buttons your press depend on the model you have.
Important: For the reset procedure to work, you must press the buttons on the front of the player, not on the remote control for the player.
Below is a list of all Samsung DVD players and the buttons to press to run the reset procedure.
DVD511 - Stop / Play
DVD611 - Stop / Play
DVD709 - Stop / Play....

Many, many other models follow but cannot be listed here because of this site's text limitations.

Good luck!

Dvd eject button does not respond

Had a similar problem after loading a suspect dvd (one I had buned myself) Could not do anything - stuck at loading.
Try this :
  1. Unplug and wait 10 seconds
  2. plug it back in and wait 1 minute. DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS!
  3. With the machine still in the standby state, press eject on the REMOTE. It should eject without trying to read the disk.

Good luck. It worked for me.

The laser has become damaged/worn-out. There is no fix for it as replacement parts are not made for it.

Disk is "shot" out from the player still spinning fast

Maybe got damaged during shipping?? Try also to clean the lens. Theres not alot the consumer can do with a cd or dvd player as you need special equipment to work on these units as there are no user serviceable parts inside. If its a good unit maybe it would be worth a look at by a pro. Good Luck
