When you connect your cell phone with the supplied USB cable and then connect it to your computer's USB port the computer should detect the cell phone as an USB storage device which you can then open to download to your computer. It this does not work then - If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB mass storage device oran external storage device, you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.
A "USB" cannot be formatted. A USB is simply a port, one of several methods of connecting a device to a computer. There is also serial ports, parallel ports, fire wire ports, infrared and blue tooth. There may be other ports, the ones I mention are common.
If you have a device you have connected to your computer through a USB port, Windows newer than 98 should detect the device. If the device requires external power, make sure you are supplying it. (Did it come with a power cord or a transformer and power cord?) Find the device. Click on My Computer and see if it is listed. You have given scant little description of the device so I am slugging forward in the dark. If this is a mass storage device or a memory stick or a thumb drive and is a recent device (new), it should be formatted already and should open when you click on it. If it is an older device (an old Cruizer for example) you can go to the Cruizer web site and get instructions on how to remove that application and use your stick as a normal memory stick. If it is neither, right click on the device, one of the options should be "format" ... select format.
I hope this helps you with your trouble today. Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com and please come again.
Seems that your laptop's USB ports are not providing enough power to the cooling pad. This could be due to you connecting too many USB peripherals to your laptop. Test if you can get the cooling pad to work by disconnecting all other USB devices. As a permanent fix, you can buy an active USB hub (one powered by external power source) & connect your cooling pad to it.
ok, the answer is pretty simple, ur usb ports connect to a internal hub, that hub is what has malfunctioned, u need to reinstall that device's driver though the device manager on vista, go to start, type device manager in the search box, click device manager in the list, a uac query will appear, click continue, on device manager go to universal serial bus controlers and click the +, right click the usb root hub and uninstall it, repeat that for all of the usb root hubs, then restart ur pc, it will automatically reinstall the devices with a fresh driver, plug in your usb device and it should work, have a great day and happy holidays
Test the USB ports first. Update BIOS download it from the Dell support. Try a different USB devices like flash sticks, external storage or other USB devices. If all external USB devices fails USB port might be defective. Call dell to replace motherboard.
A 'mass storage device' is any device on which files can be stored (HD,
Memory card, thumb-drive etc.) so that controller is not for the USB
ports as such, but may indeed be for a storage device that plugs into a
USB port (card-reader, external HD). For a laptop, it may be for a
built-in card-reader which is connected internally to the USB bus.
Go here and enter your laptop's serial number to be sure of getting the
proper drivers specific to your machine, as you may be trying to use
the wrong driver. Only by entering the serial number can you be sure of
getting the correct files: http://support.gateway.com/support/d...ter.asp?Tab=My
Many drivers will not work in Vista even though they worked fine in XP. You will need to dl a new updated driver for your sound card(vista compatible) and install it. It can get involved in Vista so here is a link to an excellant howto for you and should help.
