This is not a question about a dryer! I have a Sears 10 inch Radial Arm Saw. How do I switch the motor from 220 volts to 110??

If the motor is a dual voltage type the instructions might be printed inside the motor cover or alternatively in the saw handbook.

It is important to find the correct instructions and to follow them exactly.

I bougt a brandnew table saw, i put it together and it doest work, what now?

Check the receptacle for power. Also double check the voltage on the saw's nameplate. If it's supposed to run on 110 or 220 volts. Some saw motors are multi-tap and can be wired for both voltages. What kind of saw is it? Is it belt driven or direct drive?

Can it run on either 110 or 220?

There should be a label on the motor that explains the capability.

A very advanced table saw may have a motor that can be wired for either 110 or 220. The table saw I can afford would have a either a 220 or 110 motor.

Single phase motor 220 convert to110v; do you have switch wire inside the motor

There should be a label showing the change, one wire gets switched over to a different screw, all motors are different, but all basically the same, some will not switch. It would be just as easy to run a new line to your motor and it will be right, single circuit, 220 volt,?amp, no worries., Your motor as is will not run in 110 volt mode at all. Hope this helps.

Need wiring diagram for a marathon 1/2 hp electric motor 220 to 115volt

HAVE POWER TURNED OFF AND LOCKED OUT. If the motor is a dual voltage motor it should have a wiring diagram on the motor. Check on the name plate of the motor. You should see a high and low voltage diagram. Follow the low voltage numbering. The widings need reconfigured to operate at a different voltage. Hope this helps you...Jim

I inherited an older Delta 10 inch table saw. While cutting lumber the blade slows down and stops. The wood is not binding the blade. With power off the blades and motor turn freely. Does the motor...

Two easy possibilities are that the blade is dull or that the wire is too small. The wire is likely to be a problem if you are using an extension cord. You could move the saw near to an outlet that you know to be wired with 12 gage wire (not 14). Or you could buy as short as possible 12 gage extension cord. If being underwired is the problem, you will notice that the motor comes up to speed much faster when wired adequately. You might also buy a cheap new blade to rule out the dull blade problem. If neither of these fixes the problem, then the motor has become "weak" because it has overheated just enough to cause some minor shorts between the windings. (If the shorts are major it won't turn at all and will trip a breaker.) In this case the motor can be rewound, but it will probably be cheaper and easier to just replace the motor.
Good luck, Al K

Wired my delta 10" table saw for 220v and breaker on motor pops and it is wired to manul specs?

Not sure this will apply, but most motors that can be setup for either 110 or 220 will have leads inside the motor connection box that need to be reconfigured to convert the voltage. If you simply rewired the plug over to 220V, then you will need to redo the leads inside the motor as well.

Purchases a makita compound sa wUSA can i use it in AUStralia

The only obvious problem is that a saw purchased in USA will have a 110 volt motor. Mains voltage in Australia is 220, so you would need to purchase a transformer in Australia to step the voltage down to 110.
