The gears you cleaned may be dry and sticking, spray a little WD40. or that gear on the right side is still out of time.. One secret to repairs is to perform the same actions that you want the typewriter to do by hand and watch closely.

Hi

check for the platen gap its inside the printer itself. look for a switch or a knob that will bring the roller closer so that whenever you strike the wheel will hit the roller. look as well on the sides of the typewriter for the platen gap, its somewhat a switch or a knob.

Hope this helps

Kindly check the inner root of the daisy wheel, im sure there's such thing that get rid of it, that's why it will not move, or manually pull it by your finger one of them then pull it up, down, up, down, up, down, then try it on another striker,, if it is smooth to pull, it means LACK of oil inside...

I suppose mostly in the   Brothers typewriter, If the keyboard is not locked in place under the catches, it will not complete the home cycle. In other words when the carriage returns to the left it will cycle and then beep usually continually. The reason the carriage stop time switch is attaced to the keyboard not the side frame. You might look at that....Could be other problems too.and also try to check whether the dailsy whell properly installed or not tat is Has the lever been pressed firmnly.. & Have you run out of ribbon or have you pressed the 'spider web' key with + // keys after replacing cassette ribbon, correction tape or daisy wheel?.. so chek out these facts too..

Sounds like the gears you cleaned may be dry and sticking, spray a little WD40. or that gear on the right side is still out of time. I think there is a spring clutch in the gear train which may be bad. One secret to repairs is to perform the same actions that you want the typewriter to do by hand and watch closely. You may see something not movving, or moving slow that under power you won't see.

Check if the striker or any other mechanic part is stuck, if you do not find anything abnormal, the device must be disassembled, in this case is better to contact a qualified repair centre.

Try first unplugging the power cord for ten minutes.

On some model there is also a combination key that reset the machine, refer to the manual.

If the resets do not work, then there is a fault.

Check the small black part that turns the ribbon, if that part is broken, the wheel wont move.

When you type, each character you strike actually types another letter.

first try turn typewriter off, (button on left panel toward the back), then turn it back on, and while hold down the CODE button, press RESET key, the whole print head will move and reset

if that doesn't work, power off again, open the cover, release the lever to the Daisy Wheel, and inspect that Daisy Wheel - mine has a bent forward letter, and another letter was kinda stuck to the side of another letter... I gently fix both letters, put the Daisy Wheel back in, firmly lock it in place with the lever, close the cover... and voila, it works like a charm.

While you have it open you might want to dust (use the cleaning spray can duster)... You wouldn't believe what I found in my typewriter... Good luck!

If that doesn't work, I would replace the Daisy Wheel.

Where is the daisy wheel?

The daisy wheel is the part with all the letters on it, Remove the ribbon, pull back on the usually black lever next to the print solenoid and lift the daisy wheel out.

My typewriter (Brother GX-6750) does not print correct letters

look for bent or broken spokes on daisy wheel .turning unit off for 20 seconds and back on should reset the daisy wheel home position. probably the daisy wheel.

Its not typing the correct letter. When you type. U can hit letter ''t'' and may type a ? mark.

if turning off for 20 seconds doesn't fix it look closely at the spokes and letters on the daisy wheel for bent or broken spokes or letters. replace daisy wheel if bent or broken about $35.00.

Cannot get daisy wheel to type correct letters

Turn oFF the typewriter, take the ribbon out.....use the lever on top to release and remove the print wheel cartridge. Lightly rotate it to see if it will move and reinsert the cartridge. snap it back into place.
Turn on the machine, the typewriter should move the carrier to the left and reset the printwheel....if it is snapped back properly.
