Keyless control not working

My keyless control would not open the door locks unless it was next to the door. I replaced the battery and it will not respond at all.
the red lite comes on very bright.
I even put it next to the antenna and still no responce.
Thanks for any help. Myron Janisch PSL Fl.

Battery is disconnected and keys won't open doors or trunk. Help!!!

Is the battery completely disconnected, and you closed the hood? Or, did you replace the battery, and now the key fobs don't work?

If it is the SECOND scenario, if you change the battery you will have to resynchronize the fobs. Stand next to the vehicle and press the lock and unlock buttons on the fob at the same time and hold for 7 seconds. That should synchcronize the fobs to the car again..

But seriously, can't you just use your key to unlock the drivers door to get in, then unlatch the hood?

If your car has keyless entry (I have never, and will never own a GM vehicle) and you have NO keys to open the doors, and the doors are locked because there is no battery installed to unlock them, you have two choices I can think of (legal ones).

1 Call a professional locksmith. (that deals with automobiles)
Many insurance companies cover this as part of your policy.

2. Call the police and ask for help. They usually carry a jimmy tool and if you are very very nice to them they MAY open it for you if you can first prove you own the vehicle.. (they are NOT required to help)

3. Bust out a window, open the door, pop the hood, install a new battery, synchronize the key fobs, test the door locks to make sure they work, then call the dealership to replace the window you broke.. (unless you know a good shade-tree mechanic, and can get a replacement window from a salvage yard.

Why Brinks dead bolt keyless entry stays locked

If the bolt moves freely it should work with the correct combination. Test with door open. Reset the combination to be sure you have it correct. If it still won't work with good batteries, then the lock must have failed. Check for loose connections or broken wires. Unless it's under warranty, you'll probably need to replace it.

2008 HHR Remote Starter not working

Is this an issue with all 2008 HHR remotes??? Highly doubtful , probably the vehicles keyless entry system . Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having the keyless entry system checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Do you know what a DTC is ?
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors, or release the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Remote rear doors (Panel only)
• Vehicle locator/panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR

Guessing will not fix this .

Remote control added or replaced. System malfunction.
Obtain all remote controls. Remove key from ignition switch. Close all doors. Open driver's door. Carry out the following within 24 seconds: Turn ignition switch ON and back to LOCK position 3 times. Remove key. Press and release driver's door courtesy light switch 3 times. Ensure doors lock and unlock. If not, wait 40 seconds and repeat procedure starting with driver's door already open. Press each remote control lock or unlock button twice. Ensure doors lock and unlock after each remote control operation. If not, proceed as follows: Press and release driver's door courtesy light switch once. Ensure doors lock and unlock twice. Repeat procedure starting with driver's door already open.
NOTE: A maximum of 3 remote controls can be programmed.

Keyless entry on honda civic 2006 not working

The keyless entry is designed to work with the doors closed (closed - not locked). If the door ajar sensor thinks the door is open the keyless entry is disabled. When you manually lock the door it might tighten the door just enough to activate the keyless entry. I would try slamming all the doors closed and then see if the keyless entry works. If it still wont work have the wiring checked on the front door lock.
