Try typing 192.168.0.1 into your internet browsers' url box this is the address of the router. try admin for username and password for password. you should be able to tell in the settings what the connection situation is. but be careful not to reset factory settings or you'll could lose some settings information. you could also try using a pencil to reset the router, should take about 15 seconds of holding in and then waiting for all the lights to stop flashing and then stay on. the waiting can take a couple of minutes. if you still got no internet access, open the control panel, go to internet options, hit the connection tab and make sure the 'never dial a connection' button is checked. press apply. if still no internet, then it's possible that the ISP hasn't setup the line yet, or make sure your phone works when it's plugged straight into the phone socket in the wall. also there could be a problem with the microfilter, which you could change for another one, but before you go out and buy another microfilter, check with your ISP. good luck chris firstname.lastname@example.org

Hi there! This are some steps on how to
setup your modem/router New DSL Modem Available
Embarq is now shipping an updated version of the DSL
Modem called the "660". It is smaller than the older model
(645) and is much easier to setup. A
few years ago, Sprint/Embarq changed the way their servers communicate
with the DSL modems. The new method is called DHCP, which is how the 660
modem works. The older 645 Modem used "PPPoE". So it's
best to have the new 660 DSL modem. The
older 645 modem also had the same default IP address as the Linksys Router
(192.168.1.1) - so you had to change one of the addresses to make them work
new 660 DSL modem uses 192.168.2.1 as the default IP address. This does
not conflict with the default IP address of the Linksys Router (192.168.1.1).Note that if you had changed the Linksys Router
IP address to 192.168.2.1, then you will first need to reset it back to the
default address 192.168.1.1. If
you call Embarq and request the new 660 DSL modem they will sent it to you at
no cost. When you install the 660 DSL modem, you need to be sure that you
power down the old 645 modem amd leave it off at least 1 hour before you plug
in the 660 DSL modem. The Embarq server needs to "forget" the
old 645 modem. After an hour, all you should have to do is plug in
the new 660 modem and everything should start up properly. Call
Embarq Tech Support 1-877-646-3282 if you have problems setting up the
modem. If the Internet Lights does not come on after a few moments - then
call Embarq Tech Support.
you can go to any wi-fi locations near your area and access the internet on your laptop. I think AT&T offers wi-fi access to its members on any of its designated hotspot /wifi locations (nearly 15,000 company-owned & roaming) e.g. McDonald's, Barnes & Noble bookstores, leading airports, coffee shops, etc. you can visit att.com and login to your account to find more details. or call them at: 1-888-888-7520
you don't need to install any software/ dsl installation on your laptop when you are using a public wi-fi connection, just ensure that your computer firewall is on and take precautions when sending out any personal info online.
Try contacting the DSL provider, if not All-Operatingsystems-Lost.
U may try Start-controlpanel-network connections-local area connection-properties
Ensure correct card under connect using.
click on configure.
click on advanced.
reset to auto detect
There are sometimes issues with the PPPOE. the DSL provider should be able to resolve this.
