If there is a clicking noise, check the paper tray. either the tray is overloaded or the paper guide is not set properly.

it's common for the blue paper tab in the paper tray to slide back. the tab has a little square cut out. make sure that it says "LTR" if you use regular letter size paper (8 & 1/2 x 11 inch).

thats not a good fix. it has something to do with a solenoid that engages the feed drive. ive seen it but cant find a part number for it.

Noise while printing - Diagnosis Pt 1

<p>Unexpected noise (such as clicking, thumping, or grinding) from an branded device are heard during printer operation.<br /> <br /> <span><b>NOTE: </b></span><br /> Noises can be caused by a number of things, some of which may not be addressed in this document. Paper light flashing popping noise

The problem sounds like the rear paper guide of the paper tray is too tight aginst the paper. Back the guide off about 1/16 of an inch and see if that helps. You may also want to check and make sure the tray is set for the correct paper size of the paper you are using. Good luck!

You're most welcome. Remember to check all of your paper, I had it curl a bit from sitting too long and I had a very bad paper jam from that. Good luck!

Does it make noise when it first feeds paper or when the print module sweeps across? It's possible that there is some obstruction in the paper path or in the way of the print module. Is the noise constant or only when a certain action occurs? Let me know.

GRINDING NOISE or PAPER JAM

If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.

Flashing resume light also can mean:

1. cartridge is missing or an incorrect print cartridge is installed
2. cartridge is out of ink
3. dirty cartridge contacts
4. paper jammed

Check are cartridges firmly snapped into place and not empty. Use water to wash copper on cartridges if contacts are dirty.
