Question about IBM Pentium MMX, 200 MHz (656286U) Motherboard

Access BIOS Have Old Compaq despro running a Pentium MMX motherboard, what are they key strokes to access BIOS..tried usual F10 F2 >DELETE< etc any ideas for the combination. Also child( teenager) decided they would change Admin to a personal name and add a password now cant get to admin privleges.They dont know password either....it is XP professional.

Oh, you can see it in the splash screen. The screen where the 'Compaq' logo shows up has the keys to what goes where. See the bottom of the screen.

See 'Setup' etc. If it doesn't show up (doesn't in mine, as my monitor starts late), then start it up and then reboot. The monitor doesn't switch off here. So, you can see it.

I CAN NOT SELECT JUMPER RESET CMOS


Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart


this will reset cmos

Cant show my pen drive or any input from from external sources,seems it was locked in the bios .how can i solve it


Hi,

If is something related to the BIOS, enter to BIOS and choose : Load Default Settings, Save and Reboot.
To Access the BIOS: Tap F1, F2, delete key or F10 just after rebooting your computer

Laptop hp nx6320 keyboard f2 key is only working. f1 and f10 key is not responding so that I can't save memory upgradation option nor open the setup.


Have you tried "Delete" to enter the "Bios Settings"? If not this must be the shortcut for your laptop, since most compaqs' Bios settings are accessed with "del" key. Actually for Hp compaq laptops, F1, F2, F10 and Delete keys are the shortcuts. (varies with series/models).
If this doesn't help, try Fn+F1, Fn+F2, Fn+F10 etc..

How to get in the bios


Try to hold up this: Delete or F2 or Esc or F10 when you start your computer. I think it is F2 for Acer
