Question about Lexmark E330 Laser Printer

1 Answer

Lexmark E330. Progressive paper feed problems. Typically jiggling the paper in the tray, and fiddling with the back spring loaded light blue paper guide in the back of the tray fixes the problem, which typically is no more than feeding two or more sheets at the same time, thereby jamming the paper transport mechanism. Since several hours ago, this solution no longer works. In fact, the jam light comes on and no sheet of paper has been fed into the transport mechanism at all. I can't see very far into this part of the printer, but by hand feel, there doesn't appear to be any ripped piece of paper preventing the paper from feediing. Except now it is isn't feeding at all. This suggests that there is some kind of hardware failure which is not moving the top sheet of paper into the paper transport mechanism. I can take anything apart, but don't have the slightest idea what I should be looking for, or if any internal adjustments or replacement parts are required.

I would consider two solutions:That there is something blocking the paper path now, and that the pickup rollers are dirty.
First, clean the pickup rollers, and anything that looks like it helps with feeding paper. Use some rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Getting it clean and 'grippy' (like rubber should be), should solve the pickup and feeding problem, unless there is blockage. The E330 isn't too hard to take apart, and searching online for a Parts Guide isn't too difficult.
Also, make sure that the paper guides in the tray are snug with the paper.

The "add paper light" is on even though the paper

The light means that the printer is out of media, or the media did not feed properly

What you can do

-Load media into tray and press Continue button to resume printing.

-Check that the media is loaded correctly in tray

-Press Cancel button to cancel the print job.

Duplex paper jam . i thought i took out the paper that was jammed and i am still getting that message, PLUS now I cannot the top tray back.

The duplexer, which flips the paper to automatically print on the back side, slides into the back of your printer. Unplug the printer and slide the duplexer out to check it for jammed sheets. You might have pulled out a sheet or two in the main printer section and left one in the duplexer.
As for the top tray, the paper feed wheels ride on the end of a long lever that drops down to rest on the paper. It should be held up out of the way by a spring until the drawer is inserted, but sometimes the plastic nub that the spring pulls on breaks off. Lexmark sells a little kit of the spring and "bellcrank" to fix it. If your paper tray holds 500 sheets - a whole **** - you need part no. 56P1331 "Parts packet, bellcrank and spring, 500 sheet." For 250-sheet trays the part number is 56P1337. A web search for either part number will find you a seller.

Paper doesn't feed from inside on XD 100 work center (10 years old, lightly used). Despite a full paper drawer, I get the "out of paper" error message.  I can copy by feeding through the back.

On this machine, the feed rollers might be worn down.
Not seeing the machine and by the description. there can also be other possible problem areas, deep in the machine itself.
Does the paper feed partially out?
If it does not, are there paper black scuff marks where the rollers were trying to feed the paper.
Can you hear the solenoids feed the paper?
If the paper does feed and seems crooked, it is possible the paper tray springs need to be stretched out just a little to push the paper tray plate more on the feed rollers.
Make sure the tray is completely up in the latched position so the feed wheels will touch the paper stack itself.
If you have a two paper tray, make sure you tell the machine what size paper you have for each tray.
Run paper in each tray.
Good luck.

Paper won't feed. It's in the back stand up area

i have had this problem with a few Lexmarks. try a lighter weight paper or lessen how much your loading into it. also make sure nothing is in the bottom of where you load the paper (example: there is a pencil in there and the paper is sitting on the pencil) If its new take it back and exchange it. when it loads the paper the bottom of the tray tilts forward. that may be faulty.

I had a similar problem, On inspection I found out the rubber wheels in the paper tray section were missing ( Some kinda manufacturing fault) (or somebody played a very absurd joke on me) anyways I put rubber bands on those plastic rollers and Viola its perfect...

Procedure:

1. Remove paper tray
2. turn your printer upside down
3. u will see two wheels connected with a lever
4. check if they have rubbers on them
5. if not , role a rubber band on them .

hope that helps...

Lexmark T632 says "Load MP Feeder Letter

Hi Pqpoppa,
Check the paper size setting in the printer. Set it to the paper size you normally use such as A4 and the default tray. Check the default paper size in the printer driver in your computer and the default tray. Finally, check the paper size of the document you are printing. If all these match, it should not try to be smart and ask you to feed paper.

The broken part is called the bell crank arm part number 56P1228 this is very common. If the printer isn't recognising your tray, remove it and check the little plastic fingers on the left side (half way down the tray) and the metal springs in the printer (left side) which the tray pushes on to.

Paper jam

I too have this infuriating problem and the reason has already been pinpointed very well it is indeed the front rubber pinch cam not grabbing the paper well. I have approached this problem from another angle... under the front sprung loaded flap on the paper tray
there are two compression springsapprx 1/2" in dia. Gently prise apart the 2 flap pivot (on the extended arms) to gain access to the springs ,pull out the springs and either replace them with slightly stronger ones or pull the existing springs apart to retension them and pop them back (long-nosed pliers or tweezers) this will restore the spring tension lost during use with the rubber pinch cam.
