Does not matter which wire you put on terminals as they are both common, it will work regardless of which wire you put on.the terminals.

Hotpoint WMA58 Pump Wire Broke

Twisting together and electrical tape is not a safe fix with 110 volts and water around. You need crimp connectors and heat shrink sleeving.

Live wire connection has 3 connectors for 3 phase. Do I put in all there bridges when connecting to single phase

Your question is not mate. What do you exactly want to do? If I understand that you have a single phase apparatus you wanted to connect it from a three phase box. If that is the case, then you have three options:
1. If the wires are new colour coded ones then you have to take your neutral wire from the blue wire and the live from any of the other three.
2- for old colour codes , take the neutral from the black wire and the live from any of the other three.
3- finally. Connect the neutral from the black or blue and the live from any of the other three red ones if the wires are in a conduit or trunking. I hope this answers your questions. Good luck

My terim cooker has 3 wires - black, blue and brown. Do you know which is live, negative and earth?

green or green and yellow is the ground (earth), blue is neutral, black and brown are both lives. this is the standard european wire color code since 2004. If it is older than that, black was used as a neutral, and blue as a live. very confusing.

Wiring/connecting wire from fan to home ceiling

Hi,

this depends on where you live UK/USA et,c or other.
It is best to search the manufacturers site, to find installation codes/colours.
i.e USA use a lot Of Black and white. UK uses Red/Black Green/yellow.
And on houses that are rewired to 17th edition electrics ( UK ) the colours have now changed on mains twin and earth household Wiring. What Used to Be Red ( Live ) Is Now Brown. Black ( Nuetral ) Is now Blue. green/yellow is earth.

*** Important Note:- you should have several reds in a ceiling junction box or light fitting, these are circuit wires. ( Live From Light to next light ) The same as with Black ( Nuetral )
There will usually be 1 switch wire/Cable. this feeds a live from the switch, to the live power up to the light. many homes use a twin core and earth, from the light switch to the fitting. this may be black ( if a black/red ) has been used. *** Do not connect a black Switch wire with the remaining neutrals***
This will blow a fuse or trip a breaker.

Your solution:- connect the black neutral To the Black neutral cables ( more Than 1 at the ceiling Rose/fitting ) if there is a green/yellow or green ( this will be earth ) You may have 2 remaining Colours Possibly red and Blue or other. The Red Should be the switched Live. ( the single cable Red/Black with red tape around It ) This will be the switched Live. The remaining cable would probably be connected to the Bunch of Reds ( Constant Live ) As ceiling fans require a constant and switched live ( if the fan has lighting )

If in any doubt, consult a qualified or competant Electrician. *****And always remove or isolate the mains supply before attempting any installation*****. After the wiring is complete replace the fuse or switch on the breaker, to test your installation.

This information, is supplied by a fully competant electrician.

Need wiring diagram for a hotpoint df22 dishwasher on/off switch, the switch in it has been replaced with the wrong one so i have no reference to connect up the new one. thanks

You're in luck - I've just had one apart to repair the wiring loom.
The door switch is a simple two-pole latching switch with the wiring as follows.

This is the order of connections from the front.

1. Brown - Live (fed from mains)
2. Red - Load (goes to controller)
3. Black - Load Neutral (return from controller)
4. Blue - Neutral (goes back to mains)

By the way - the flat wiring loom gets fatigued at the bend at the bottom of the door and will eventually short out. Easy to fix with heatproof cable stripped out from an immersion lead.

Check power is at these Points.

  1. Mains filter at top right - Check for live and Neutral Presence.
  2. ON/OFF Switch - Check for Power in and Out when switched on.
  3. Door Lock - Check for Power down 1 wire and when Locked, Power ( Live ) present in 2 wires. The third wire is the Neutral for the door locking circuit. Check this Neutral is OK. - Let me know.
