Disk tray won't open, sounds

If you can hear the motor whirring look for a load belt at base of drawer, if no belt or belt ok make sure that the laser assembly has reseated, if not look at what drives the mechanism again look for a belt or a damaged cog. If there is a cd in the unit and it spins too fast it is an indication that the laser can't track or focus on the TOC, manually remove the disc (carefully) and clean the lens using a cotton bud dipped in a little alcohol like etanol, if problem persists the laser assembly needs replacement...Phil
