The PSU is more than capable of producing enough power to run this Board - Silverstone-Zeus - 70 watt. Would love some help with this, thanks.

    hey,

Thanks for getting back to me, i have tried different Ram modules but to no avail.

However i think its my CPU that it doesen't like ... in the Manual it says Support for Intel Pentium- dual core in the LGA 775 package, which i have Pentium4 3.4ghz 550j - dual core - LGA 775, but on Gigabytes website the CPU support list says its not supported.

I was kind of hopeing to use this CPU as i don't have enough money to buy a new Processor.

    Cheers.

thats ok, plz try by resiting the ram and check all the cable connection, if you are using two ram module then try one at a time, if the problem is not solved then you can try with a new smps(just to know if your powersupply unit is ok) if the problem remains then *********** board is the culprit

Go to http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/download-center.aspx?kw=GA-965P-DS3

and click on revision 1.0 - 3.3 as there may be additional CPUs supported in Rev 3.3 vs 1.0, you have to determine what specific Revision you have.

I cant turn it on

If you have just installed a new mother board, refer to your manual and double check your connections for pwr switch. If this is a machine you've had for a while and it just stopped powering up then your power supply is probably broken.

Gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p (REV.1.6) motherboard

Hello,

If this is a new install, make sure the board is grounded to the base with the standoff post. If you do not tighten your screws or miss these standoff, your system will short and not power up.

Good Luck

No video on new Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 motherboard

There are a couple things that you need to look at. The first is your power supply. I've had computers seeming to run fine with no video. Turned out to be bad power supplies.
Does your video card require a power connection? Many high-end video cards need an external power connection. If the card has a power connection, use it.
Have you gone in and checked the cmos settings? What does it say (if anything) for the default video?
Now remove all connections to drives (hard drive and CD and try for video. Try it.
Next, if possible, swap out memory.
After you've tried everything (including maybe burning incense), time to try a new motherboard.

Motherboard compatibility

If you want to replace the mobo always compare the cpu-slot and the memory slots.
Tok a fast look on both of the mobos and both supports same cpu, both supports same memosticks though the the one you have supports ddr2 667mgz and the new one you found supports ddr2 1333+mhz. So you can use it but you may have to buy faster memosticks if you want to use the full power of it.

Here is the support site for the new one:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2843

On that site you will also find all the drivers you may need if you buy it

And here is the support site for the mobo you have:
http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ClassValue=Motherboard&ProductID=1960&ProductName=GA-8I945P-G-RH

Now you can compare yourself if you want.
BTW, that GA-EP45-DS3 is a very good mobo

Good luck to you
Please take a moment and rate my help for you

Connecting hdd led lead and power led lead, where do they go ?

Hi, There are 3 versions of this motherboard; 1.0, 2.0 & 3.3, but the layout is identical. The general layout is shown in pins.jpg. For the power led, the white wire goes to the (-) terminal either pin 2 or 3, both are MPD- while the green goes to the ( ) or pin 1 (MPD ) as shown in powerled.jpg HDDpins.jpg shows the connection of HDD led, the white goes to pin 3 or HD- while the red goes to pin 1 or the HDD . I cropped these images from the manual which is also available at the gigabyte website. Hope this gives you some ideas and workout of you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up. Kind regards.
