Headlight brightness not sufficient.

The actual replaceable bulb inside the headlight is available in different wattages.
Replace the bulb with a higher wattage one.

HCL652W picture faded will bulb replacement fix this

I would say that it is not worth replacing the bulbs. I had a similar experience with an old rear projection TV like that and I just cleaned all the dust out of it as well as I could. i cleaned the back of the screen, the mirror that the image reflects off of, and the bulbs themselves. I used a dry micro fiber cloth so as not to scratch anything. doing this might help you some, but if it is working and it is bright enough for you after a few minutes, I would just live with it until you can upgrade to a newer TV.

Hi,
The coolant inside each of the tubes need to be flushed cleaned and refilled.Over the years of the TV's use, the coolant gets cloudy from heat. usually this kind of service can range from $350-$650+ dollars. Its not an easy job... Call your local TV repair professional to find what they charge to refill coolant. You can CLICK HERE to find a TV repair professional in your area, just type in your zip. I'm not sure if my answer will help much, but it is free. My experieence with this site is that without paying for premium service, you won't get much help.
I had a similar problem with a different model Panasonic projection set.I got no answer on this site, but I did from an outside repairman.
Turn your color all the way down. If it looks black and white it is probably not a bulb problem. If you see a tint (blue, green, red) over the screen, it probably is a weak bulb.
The entire bottom front of my model was held on by velco and could be pulled off.
Behind this was a removable black panel. Behind this were adjustment screws for the three bulbs. This will probably only help temporarily if the bulbs continue to weaken, but it might buy you some time as the replacement bulbs are quite expensive. Good Luck

My picture brightness is uneven - there is a persistant bright field on my screen.

I have the exact same problem with my AE700. It a started about the same time, around 2500 hours for me. I lived with it untill I could afford a new bulb which arrived yesterday. The old bulb was still working at a 3603 hours when I installed the new one. But the new bulb didn't fix the problem for me either. I may try to take it apart this weekend and give it a good cleaning. Andy
