You need the motherboard driver cd to install the drivers of your specified hardware, if you recently formatted your computer.

Audio sound how do i reinstall cannot Hear CD play

The audio drivers for your audio controller can be found on the utility CD that came with your computer or notebook. If you do not have access to the CD disk, visit the manufactures website. Click their downloads/support button and search for software that is specific to you model of mainboard/audio card.

You will need to use the model number of your audio device. This is either found on the audio card or if your computer makes use of on-board audio you will need to use the model number of the mainboard.

Take care!

Pls help me with my sound,i cant listen to music.i reinstalled window XP and thenwhen the system finaly came up i found out that i can no longer hear any sound when i try to play an audio cd

You need to install the audio driver to hear sounds. You need to identify the audio card and if you do not have the audio driver CD, then you can download it from the manufacturers WEB site.

I have gateway conputer windows 98 ,I upgrded the graphics card to Herculies which is ok , also I upgraded to sound blaster 5.1 live , I can here music from the speakers from the software installed, but...

Hi

the issue is that you have not connected a 3-4 pin wire from the CD drive directly to the sound card.

You will hear sound if you connect your speakers or head phones to the small plug in front of the cd drive.

You will need a audio cable between CD drive and the Sound card.

here is the cable: http://www.pcpartscollection.com/audcabforcdr1.html

sold on the above page for example, or available locally I'm sure in almost any computer repairer. or www.ebay.com

Show this picture or say that you need a audio cable between CD drive and sound card. they will know what you mean (or should)

You need to connect this wire on the cd drive back, next to the other connectors (it has 4 pins)

it also reads AUDIO

other end goes to the sound card, where there are 4 pins aswell, should say CD in or AUX.

Can't hear music threw ear phones only can hear the mic threw earphones

Hi I'm mhel, try to re install your audio driver and if this not work you can try to replace your head phones with a new one thats maybe the cause, but if this doesn't did the job you might have a faulty headphone jack. Consider a hardware repair. good luck

Sound problem on my HP desktop

Try going into the control panel - Sounds. Find the different items that can have sounds. There you can select a sound and play it. Do you hear it? If so, it's not the computer or card setup. If you don't hear any of the sounds there, it's probably the sound card (either hardware or drivers). The CD plays through the soundcard so it's not likely the hardware.

As to the keyboard control, that's likely HP specific drivers that are missing or wrong. If you reinstalled Windows on this machine - you may not have all the original drivers that came with the machine, especially if you downloaded them from HP support. Sometimes those "special" functions are hard to find.

Hope that gives you something to work with,

A sound appears to play but i do not hear any sound playing.

Check to make sure your settings arn't muted, audio driver software isn't muted, or the volume is set to low volume.

No Sound when I play a DVD, but I do have sound when I play a Music CD

Open your sound controls to make sure nothing is muted or set on low volume.
If that's not the case, open your audio drivers program and check to see if nothing is muted.
