You can trace the coax with a cable toner. You inject a signal at one end and look where it appears at the other.

Transformers are safety components which can only be replaced by the same part or one recommended by the Maker of the device. You should contact them for a list of suppliers for the replacement transformer. Under no circumstances should this be replaced with just an off the shelf device.

Remote control not working

Once the remote was not exposed to water, the battery being the power supply should be checked. Corrosion also is a possible cause not to mention the energy of the battery may be exhausted. Replace it before proceeding to have the installed sensor checked and consider replacement. The terminal/contacts of the unit is also proned to corrosion therefore they too should be checked to consider cleaning. The circuit also may need some investigation. If the remote remains defective, Remember to consult a qualified person to conduct the investigation or replace the unit, the remote control.

When i choose digital surround mode, there is no icons of surround loudspeakers, and there is no digital 5.1 surround sound. i have to press button DVD 6 CH INPUT. it is analog connection. sometimes when...

First of all, you don't identifiy the hardware.

Second, DVD 6 CH INPUT is analog so how would the device KNOW if all 6 channels are present? ONLY a device with the required 6 analog channels should be connected there. That input typically bypasses ALL internal digital processing.

Elaborate more on the digital source(s) that are failing and assure us you have looked at/exhausted what the manual says for setting them up.

I am trying to power outside speakers (2 pairs of 8ohm) off a brand new Harman Kardon 2 channel receiver (HK3490). I was having problems with other receivers getting hot and believed it was happening...

By-pass the external Volume control. It may not be "impedance matching" or it may have an internal issue. If it's located outside, it's probably corroded and creating a load on the receiver causing it to shut down. If you still have an issue beyond this , post a comment and I can help you troubleshoot further. Hope this helps

Denon AVR 2106 clicking noise

I like when a user is observant and curious. That will help immensely in resolving this problem.

What source(s) are always involved with the problem?

You imply it is observable with output video to the TV - "only when there is movement on my tv screen and it stops in still screen". That sounds like a digital pathway problem of some sort as any data errors would eventually escalate to something audible or visible to you once the hardware and correction algorhythms are exhausted. The clicking inside the receiver could be its efforts to resynchronize with a bad data stream. Hence, I'd like you to isolate the ins and outs that fail all the time and find the probable single source of the problem.

Try this: put a digital source on and select/deselect it for listening or viewing. Does it make the click in that brief time it's 'thinking' before you hear the source? That would be the 'normal' sound. My Pioneer does it once per source switch. Repeated clicking would mean it's struggling.

I'm betting you have an optical or hdmi cable that's flaky or not in tight and straight. Or, if only one extternal source is involved we follow that back.
