-   C-765 UltraZoom suddently battery life is reduced to about three shots. It uses 3.7V rechargeable; I have three and all are doing the same. I can remove the battery and immediately replace it and "milk" a couple more shots. Someone suggested that the camera may need updated software.-   Reajust

1. Minimize your use of the camera's built-in LCD (assuming it has one) if it has a viewfinder you can use instead. The LCD is the biggest power drain on your camera.
2. Use only heavy-duty batteries (look for ones that say they're suited to digital cameras). Ordinary alkalines won't cut it. Look into upgrading to rechargeable NiMH batteries.
3. If you have or can get an AC adapter for your camera, always use it when downloading photos directly to your computer.
4. If your camera uses PC Cards or SmartMedia cards, get a card reader that will connect to your computer. This will save battery life and improve data-transfer speed.
5. If problem occurs during very cold conditions, warm the batteries in your pocket or hand just before inserting them into the camera and shooting.

I had the same problem, but switched to Energizer lithium. I was getting 10-20 shots. I am now over500 and still at full battery life!

1. The Samsung A55W does not have a view finder and has a large LCD display
2. The Samsung A55W does not have a charger because it use AA batteries. you have to charge them externally. There is a LION battery available but this still has to be charged externally
3. The power on/off switch is tempermental and does not always work first time

Use the Ricoh Lithium ion rechargeable battery unit and charger. Part numbers DB43 and BJ-2. Then you can forget battery life the DB43 battery lasts 'forever'; I bought 2 (1 as a spare)... but I've never had a problem.

I read a review of your camera and it says it comes with NiMH if it comes with rechargable you should upgrade to the energize or duracell from walmart or any local electronics store. Everything in the camera needs power but i think the 2 main ones are flash and the telephoto mechanism. Any zomming in and out and using flash when its not needed could conserve power. What type of charger is it? are they charging the batteries up all the way? Do they charge on their own and shut off or do you have to remove them?
