I don't know how to change the head light on my 1997 Jeep grand Cherokee. there doesn't seem to be any screws to loosen the light.

Hi Clint,

I just want you to know that you are not crazy or blind!

The reason you cannot find any screws is because you are dealing with a snap-together vehicle.
If you only want to replace the bulb, you can reach around the radiator support and twist the bulb retainer to remove it and the bulb. If you are wanting to replace the ENTIRE headlamp assembly, follow the instructions below.

REMOVAL

Grasp lower edge of headlamp lens and pull straight back (away) from Grille Opening Reinforcement (GOR) . Disengage lower adjuster pivots from lens assembly.
Grasp upper edge of headlamp lens. Pull straight back (away) from grille opening reinforcement (GOR). Disengage upper adjuster pivot from lens assembly.
Rotate bulb lock ring counter clockwise. and remove ring and bulb from lens.
INSTALLATION

Replace by seating the assembly in the lamp housing and turning the lock ring 1/8 turn clockwise to secure.
Align upper adjust pivot into headlamp opening and snap into place.
Snap lower adjuster pivots into place.

On my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tsi the information center keeps flashing rear lamp failure. I replaced the license plate lamps but it still flashes. Is there a way to reset this??

Mine did the same I found out it was a break light out in the third break light. Easy to remove with a screwdriver. Replaced the bulbs and the warning went away.

How do I remove my head light on my 1997 Grand Cherokee?

To remove the bulb look for where the wires go into the lights and you should see what appears to be a locking collar. Loosen the locking collar and remove the bulb assembly. If you want to actually remove the headlight assembly there are typically 2 torx head screws that need to be removed to remove the assembly. For a diagram of that area I recommend you get the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle.

I cant figure out how to change the driver's side headlight

You have two screws at the top of the trim cover. remove them and tilt top towards you and remove from slots at bottom.
There are four screws holding the ring around the lamp. spray them with solvent and remove them the rest is just unplug and plug back in don't put it back upside down. (use a really good new screwdriver and if screws on ring won't come out after soaking tap the back of the screwdriver with a hammer to break rust in threads)

How do I remove the plastic headlight covers to clean them?

Remove the screw on top of the lamp assembly. The lamp assemble come off as one unit. There are three contact clips that hold the lamp on. They may be frozen fast. Try spraying oil to loosen before removing lamp assembly. To remove the lamp, push down on the top of the lamp, this should loosen the top pin from the holder, then try to pull the assembly straight out. It takes some tugging and pulling if the light assembly has been in for a few years. In fact the clips may snap off and need to be replaced before putting in a new lamp assembly. Good Luck
