Question about Whirlpool GEW9250 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Whirlpool Duet Dryer has a mind of it's own, cannot change contro

Our Whirlpool Duet Dryer (GEW9250P) sometimes works fine and sometimes we cannot change any of the settings nor get any of the buttons to work. If we shut the door hard, it may work.

Is this the control panel?
How do I diagnose this?

I took mine apart and luckily found out that the ribbon cable was partially disconnected. Put it back and it's working great. So nothing to buy!

First of all check to see that the control panel is not locked. There is a lock button assigned on the control panel. It should say it next to one of the buttons. Not door locked. You have to hold that button in for 5 - 10 seconds to unlock the panel. If not, you may need a new panel, happens often, its part # 8558753 depending on the color. Thanks Dave www.washermd.com

Sorry there are no fuses to reset on this. Best bet would be to take the top panel of via 3 screws on the back and check the panel for any loose connections at the board. Make sure its unplugged first. This is a sign of the board going bad. May have to replace the board. Pretty simple. Hope this helps. Dave www.washermd.com

I have a Whirlpool Duet dryer it is not heating everything else works

Hi

I believe that everything else is fine rather it is the thermal fuse that is located inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct that is bad and should be replaced. If you want you can test this fuse for continuity and if it is bad then it should be replaced, as it cannot be reset. If the fuse is fine then it can be due to the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
