Camera won't install on computer

I'm trying to load the camera onto an older PC with Windows ME. The software is loaded but when I plug the camera into the USB it either won't recognize the camera or it turns the computer off. I need to get the camera installed to work with skype. Any suggestions?

Re: camera won't install on computer

Also if you are having problems, download the driver right from the website and install that one, maybe the CD Driver is bad as mentioned above. that should solve your problem. Also when you are installing it close all other applications running in the backround. All little icons by the clock rt click and exit first before installing, this may help. Cheers!!

Re: camera won't install on computer

If it turns off the pc then the camera driver is corrupt, try re installing and using a different usb port, as WIN ME was never a good operating system when it came to drivers and .ddl files. If still no luck with install try a windows 2000 driver. Then your next obstacle is getting your cam to work with Skype.

My logitech webcam express doesn't work with my windows 7

If you still have the packaging and or manual for this web cam check with those to make sure that it is compatible with your computer. Window 7 is great with older technology but it can't always detect the right software for certain products. If the camera came with driver software try installing that often more times than not the installation software will notify you if your product is not compatible with the computer. I you don't have the software for the web cam you can go onto the logictech support page and they have a great out detect search function.

I hace gigaware pc cam but it doesnt working on my windows vista lap top.Can you help me

Well the gigaware cameras are not made for vista.. but will work if you just play with it.

I would suggest
unplug camera.
restart PC
after the PC has finished booting and is done loading your personal profile

{some computers take 5 min to finish loading all your setting and starting programs}
so give it a few min

plug in camera and walk away

let Vista find the camera on its own... do not force.

It should find it and tell you that it has found it and if it found software for it.

give it 5 min

Hopefully that takes care of your issues..

FYI Not all Vistas can run XP software
only PRO and Ultimate are truly XP compatible

My Windows NX-3000 Web cam wont let my PC load

Normal 0 Did you connect the camera before installing the software program? If you did, disconnect the camera from the USB Port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to reconnect the printer, then plug the cable back into the USB port and it should function properly.

Hope this is of some help. Bud

Uninstall Windows Vista. Do a fresh install of Windows XP Professional Sp2. Download XP drivers and install camera. Many software programs have trouble initializing in Windows Vista. Good luck!
