Bissell 6595-1 with broken electrical connector

I have Bissell Model 6595-1 Lift Off vacuum. There is a connector at the bottom of the Lift Off Canister that powers the roller brush of the base. One of the two pins broke and caused the connector to melt. Where can I purchase this connector?

I have the same problem on my Bissell Lift Off model 3750. Found Hesco Inc. online and they sell the male plug found in the base (no price listed.) Check out the schematics for yours:

I need to replace both male and female connectors as they're both burned up pretty badly. Will keep looking...

YES! If you haven't contacted Bissell yet (or bought a new vacuum) do so. They sent me a nice refurbished machine for free.

We had the same problem with our Bissell Model #6595-1. The connector at the base of the lift-off was burnt and causing the unit to short out which made the beater bar slow/stop. After reading some of these posts I contacted Bissell via email...they replied within a day and told me to cut the entire length of cord from our unit and mail it to them (they're paying for shipping). They are going to send us a refurbished unit of the same model. I'm adding Bissell to my list of companies that provide GREAT customer service (Canon is the other currrently on my list.)

I just had this happen & called Bissell's customer service #. My connectors were both charred. They are sending a FEDEX prepaid shipping label & want us to cut the cord off of our vac & send it back to them. Once they get the cord they will be sending us a refurbished vacuum(same model). Sounds like a good deal to me!

I had the same problem with the Bissell 3750-T. I read these postings and I called Bissell. They had me check the connector and it was burnt and missing a pin. They are going to send me a prepaid shipping label to return the power cord and they are going to send me a new vacuum.

Part number-2036628

Contact your local appliance shop and they can give you this part or at least order it. You can also try John stone Supply if your in the USA. It should be only like 20 bucks.

Where can I find the model number on my bissell proheat I no longer have the box and cannot find the manual

It is usually located on the lower back or bottom of the machine (for Lift-Off models - remove Lift-Off pod to locate), or behind the cleaning tanks.

My Bissell bagless vacuum does not seem to work anymore. It will start to with a suction and then instead of picking up the dirt, it appears to blow the dirt out almost in a cloud of dust and debris from...

this is caused by a dirty air filter and/or a blocked vacume hose ( most of the time the blockage is at the bend where the hose enters the floor sweeper area ) ---
remove and tap out and brush the filter ( or use a air compressor to blow out filter ).
then with the vacume on its side - remove the bottom plate ( like you were going to change the belt ) and use a coat hanger and clean out the hose between the floor sweeper and where the suction hoes attaches. this will restore your vacume to full operation.

The brush on my vaccum stopped rotating, we replaced the belt thinking that could be the problem. It seems that the belt is working fine and the brush will not rotate even manually- what can I do to get it...

Remove the brush from the machine and clean as best you can. At each end of the brush there is a plastic clip that holds it into the vacuum. Add some WD40 between the clip and the brush and turn the clip around the brush until it moves freely. Do this for both ends. Reassemble making sure the belt is properly installed.

I replaced the belt on my bissell model number 3576-2, but when i put it back together, the brushes wont move...the belt tries to move, but the rubber just burns..

something is binding ... i dont know what ... you will have to remove all parts and reinstall again. Make sure the bearings spin on the brush when it is out ... remove all hair and string.

good luck ... im sure it is someething simple.

Not picking up cleaned all of filters is there a belt for this

It might be because the belt is broken, stretched or worn. In all of these cases the vacuum won't pick up well. You can get the replacement belts for this model and download the manual which has instructions on how to change the belt here:

Bissell lift off, brush won't move smell burning rubber belt fine

OK - so your brush roller is jammed. And yes, the belt is melting! Unplug the machine, remove the belt (you will need another new one anyway) then see if you can turn the roller by hand. If it turns freely without you doing anything else, then you may have put the new belt in incorrectly. However, you will probably find you can't turn it, or it's hard work (it should rotate freely). Remove the roller and check the bearings - there may well be something tangled up at one end of the roller. If you can get the roller rotating freely, all should be well.
Good luck

Bissell liftoff brush wont turn

Check the connections on the bottom of the lift off part, and the matching connector on the bottom section. If bad, take it to a warranty repair shop for Bissell. Other wise it could be the brush motor that is bad, or the switch is bad.

Male plug needs to be replaced.

I had same problem with my lift-off, i sent email to Bissell explaining what the problem was and where to get replacement parts. They sent me emial back saying they will send me refeb replacement vacuum becasue this part has been discontinued (I think there is a prolem with lift-off and Bissell is trying to make it right for their customer without official recall). I did get my fedex lable and i sent entier length of cord from my lift-off back to them. I should be getting my refeb vacuum soon.
