If you want full use of the memory you can buy a seperate video card and install it. and turn the onboard video off as some of the system memory is used by the video card. Making sure of course that there is an available slot in the computer for a video card.

Some of the memory is shared to your onboard video card

You can upgrade, have a look at the specs;

Pavilion ze4910us Memory Specifications Standard Memory 512 MB (removable) Maximum Memory 1.0 GB Memory Expansion 2 sockets Memory Comments PC2100/2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs CPU Type 1.4GHz Intel Celeron M 330 Model Comments 400MHz FSB Memory Upgrade for HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop, the HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop takes the PC2100/2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory Type, and comes installed with 512 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop to up to a maximum of 1.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 512 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. For best Laptop performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your Laptop.
Choose the following Memory Upgrade for HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop.

Hope that helps.

For 5 years i had 1 gb memory single stick in my eMachines W3502 desktop PC, and it was running good, untill i installed windows 7 ultimate 64bit, it`s still runing good, but sometimes it gets slow because...

Do you get any error beeps when you turn on your computer? Check this list here: http://www.5starsupport.com/info/beep_codes.htm

Also, there are three different types of RAM: DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3. I have never come across a computer that will run two different types simultaneously, if your motherboard supports both DDR2 and DDR3 (The pins and key are different, so they won't fit in a non supported slot)

If both sticks of RAM are exactly the same, try running it in dual channel mode, by inserting the RAM sticks in the same coloured slots on motherboard, providing your motherboard supports this

Help my pc is not detecting the correct amount of ram installed

Okay, first things first. IF the memory you installed is 1024 and you are using the on board video and it is 512 MB, you will only have 512 MB usable memory. This is because the on board video uses the installed memory to function. What ever the video memory is, subtract that form the total memory. If this is not the case, try re-seating the memory. If the numbers still do not add up then if there are four memory slots, make sure the memory is installed in the same color slots. Most desktops with 4 memory slots have two slots one color and the other two another color. Make sure both memory sticks are installed in the same color.

Adding ram to an e-machine model w 3502

According to the eMachines site, this model comes with 512MB of RAM, expandable to 2GB. It came with 400MHz PC3200 DDR RAM installed, so you can get that type and know it will work. RAM is available from many suppliers. I use Newegg (www.newegg.com) and Tiger Direct (www.tigerdirect.com) for most of my computer parts.

If you're asking how to install more RAM, it's simple. Just line the module up with its socket on the system board and press straight down on it so it latches in place. The contacts are laid out so that you can't put the module in backwards. Once the memory is installed the motherboard will automatically detect the new amount. You don't need to change any settings on the board or in software.

If you need more information just post a follow-up!

OptiPlex GX270 mini tower

Remove the 256mb memory and insert the 512mb memory in slot1 and see whether it works. Please note that the memory needs to be in pairs.

I think the GX260 is mini tower has two different moles
1) PC3200 compatible with memory - 184 Pin DDR3200 400MHz

2) PC2700 compatible with memory -184 Pin DDR2700 333MHz

Please enter the service tag on dell.com and find the manual and the right memory for your PC

All the best!
