Question about Sony KP-53HS10 TV
I have a Sony KP-53HS10 that I bought from a friend 3 weeks ago. Has worked beautifully since I got it. No indication anything was wrong with it. Today, when I was watch a DVD, all of a sudden, the picture developed green & pink "halos" (it's like I see 3 separate images layered on top of each other). The picture is also "bowed" on the edges of the screen (like looking through a reverse fish eye lens, if that makes sense).
I've hit the Flash/Focus button over and over and it doesn't rectify the colors. Is there anything else I can try? Or am I looking at paying more to have the TV repaired than what I paid for it? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!
You will need to replace the convergence IC's and test resistors on them for bad values , if you want to do the repair yourself
otherwise to have a tech come out and do the repair will be about $300

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
