I found your other posts regarding this problem. I believe it may be that your monitor is failing. Do you have another monitor to try? Another clincher is to start the computer, do the login, and when the monitor goes dark, turn off it's power button, and turn it back on after waiting for 30 seconds or so. If the monitor lights and looks normal then goes back off, it's the monitor at fault.

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How to get into safe mode

Power on the machine and keep tapping the F8 key on the keyboard, after a few seconds, you'll see the "Advanced Boot Options" screen, black screen with white texts, the first from the list should be "Safe Mode...." if not, use the up and down arrow on the keyboard and highlight the Safe Mode and press Enter. You'll be taken to the Safe Mode and also you see another warning message stating if you are sure to boot into safe mode or not, click yes and proceed forward. There you are in the safe mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

I HAVE THE DISC BUT CAN NOT INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AND CAN NOT INSTALL THE SCANNER EXPERT busy helping THANK YOU

I would enter safe mode...hit F8 to get into Safe mode. You can only enter safe mode when rebooting the machine..then hit F8 a few times before the Windows Logo Operating system starts. When you see the black screen with the option modes...choose safe mode. In safe mode...I would then try to install the software. This will bypass 2nd party vendor virus and firewall software. You also have fewer startup applications running when most likely is hindering your ability to install the printer. Try that.

How to go in safe mode?

Hello,

to go into safe mode, turn on your computer and constantly press F8 immediately. You will press the F8 button at the first black screen, that is, when your computer displays its log.

While pressing the F8, a windows option will be the next screen to appear, amongst the windows option, you will see safe mode there, use your keyboard arrow key to scroll to safe mode and press enter.

By now, your computer should be loading on safe mode.

Good luck.

Undoing the "safe mode"

Yes, you should be able to reboot and it should automatically go back into regular mode.

If it doesn't, upon the next reboot tap the F8 key after your computer starts. A menu should appear with safe mode and start windows normally. Select the normal option. If a "boot menu" appears, select the hard drive, press enter then immediately hit the F8 key again for that menu although it should just reboot right into regular mode.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate this solution with a fixya rating.

Safe mode

You can also force the system into safe mode. You click on startup and type in msconfig. Click the general tab and select diags and the system will reboot to safe mode. Change it back to normal to get your system out of safe mode.
