Hi, I have a Travan NS tape drive, i can not find any driver for them. I need one for win2003 or xp. Does anyone have one or know where i can get one? Cheers, Nick
The only drivers that are published for the NS 20 are for Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0. The 2003 and XP versions shouldn't require a driver - they should be able to treat the tape drive as plug-and-play (just like a hard drive) as long as it's plugged into an IDE slot on your motherboard.
For your reference, the following webpage has the drivers that are available for the NS 20, as well as a link to the user manual (near the bottom of the page). The manual includes details about the installation procedure, which does not include any kind of driver. Here's the address:
I hope this helps - pleawse let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

- Yes, that's the device - the Travan was made by Wangtek, then Quantum bought it out and discontinued the model. But don't worry about Device Manager - here's an additional bit of insight I just stumbled across that might help:
Acording to the Quantum online knowledge base, the Travan drive will not show up as a drive letter in My Computer. Only the backup software that you're using with it will find the drive, so make sure that the back-up software is already installed when you connect the drive. Here's the link to the knowledge base, where I found this info (when it opens, choose "Drives and Standalone Units" on the left, then choose Travan):

I have a Dell ML6000 tape library with 1 IBM LTO3 4GB Fiber channel drive. The drive was working with no issues on one site. When we moved the tape library to a different site on a different server, the server cannot detect the drive both on the BIOS/Windows. The fiber status port at the back of the drive keeps blinking (Yellow light). One of the lights labeled "Port" is up and stable. Any help is greatly appreciated.
