There are two connection settings in USB: MTP and MSC. For some reason MTP is the default, but it doesn't connect properly on all computers. Select MSC and plug the player in again, the computer will recognize sansa e250 but not show the driver just yet. It is installing recognition software (just basic drivers - nothing heavy) and it doesnt tell you what its doing until its complete. WAIT FOR IT. Once it is complete you will see both the sansa e250 and the removable memory slot in your "my computer" now you're good to go.
If it is flashing constantly, go into Start --> Control Panel --> Printers/Othe Hardware --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager --> and uninstall either the Sansa or the MTP device. Disconnect the Sansa from the computer, and reinstall the software that came with the mp3 player.

Go to My Computer and then look for the Sansa 250 icon there. If it doesn't show up, unplug the USB cord and plug it in again. Once you have the icon visible in My Computer, click on it twice and open it up. To load content, go to wherever you have MP3 files or whatever and use Windows Explorer to copy the content from your computer to the Sansa. You can also manage it through Real Player or other MP3 players (Media Monkey).
"Safely remove hardware" is a normal function of Windows - it allows you to disconnect your Mp3 player without messing it up (unplugging any mp3 player while it is still "thinking" is the number one reason for mp3 player failure - always be patient with mp3 players, and try to always use the Safely Remove Hardware feature of Windows).
In that case, I'd suggest you to check whether do you have latest version of USB 2.0 installed in your computer or not. Also you can try by connecting the device in different USB port.If still the same, please go ahead and update the latest MTP drivers.
Steps needs to be followed up to update MTP drivers :
1. With the Sansa connected to your computer, open the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray. 2. Select the USB Mass Storage Device. 3. Click the Properties button. 4. Go to the Drivers tab. 5. Click the Update Driver button. 6. Select Yes at this time only, then click Next. 7. Select Install the Software Automatically, then click Next. 8. This should update the MTP Devicedriver. You may be prompted to restart the computer.
If the player is in MTP/Autodetect you can just unplug the player from the computer. You can check this by going to the My Computer window and see if the player is listed and if it has a drive letter before it, if it dont have a drive letter then it means the player is in MTP/Autodetect you can just unplug the player from the computer.
