Question about HP DeskJet 450wbt InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper not feeding into the printer properly

The paper is not feeding into the printer properly. We have tried putting only one paper into the paper tray and as many as 30 - 35 pieces of paper into the tray. But the results are the same. Once you press print, the paper does not go into the printer properly. And so one has to keep trying and trying until by luck or something it goes through properly. Because once the paper goes into the printer properly, it prints okay.

Re: paper not feeding into the printer properly

This is usually caused by the pickup rollers. When they get worn just a little they will start doing this. You can try cleaning them with alcohol, this helps sometimes.

Paper often will not feed or grabs 6-8 pages at a time. Have cleaned all rollers, still "iffy."

Are you using new paper or recycled paper? Sometimes if you try to reinsert paper back through the printer it will not feed properly. If it's new paper, try flipping the stack over and see if it will feed properly then.

How to load evelopes HL 2140

Brother Hl 2140 Printing on thick paper, labels and envelopes 2
When the back output tray is pulled down, the printer has a straight paper path from the manual feed slot through to the back of the printer. Use this paper feed and output method when you want to print on thick paper, labels or envelopes.

Open the back cover

Open the manual feed slot cover.

Using both hands, slide the manual feed slot paper guides to the width of the paper that you are going to use.

Using both hands, put one piece of paper or one envelope in the manual feed slot until the front edge of the paper or envelope touches the paper feed roller. When you feel the machine pull in the paper, let go.

• Put the paper into the manual feed slot with the side to be printed face up.
• Make sure that the paper or envelope is straight and in the proper position on the manual feed slot. If it is not, the paper or the envelope may not be fed properly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper jam.
• Do not put more than one piece of paper in the manual feed slot at any one time, as it may cause a jam.
• If you put any Media (paper, envelope and so on) in the manual feed slot before the printer is in the Ready state, the media may be ejected without being printed on.

I tried to replace the feeder of cartridge, then i open the mechanism. after complete the work, i saw paper should not properly feed. so how can i solve the problem ?

Make sure that there are not any paper fragments in the machine, this will cause the paper to either jam, or the paper not to feed properly. You should also take the paper that is in the machine out, fan it to separate it, and then put it in the machine. If that is to no avail, then try new paper, following the same instructions as mentioned above. You may also need to adjust the paper sizer mechanism as well.

I am trying to print my guest receipts and it is only printing out a quarter of the sheet with no ink.

hello, lets see if we can seperate problem with computer and printer, try running printers self test, i am curios if the machine will print properly, turn printer off, then hold paper feed button and turn machine on, paper will feed and print, once the first test pass, if you want to print the rest, press paper feed button, and machine will print and cut paper, this test is rather a little long, but it will give you info regarding paper feed, and cutting as well as impressions. if paper is dragging, check to see if the paper in machine is in correctly, you might want to check this out first, if the paper is in correctly, then problem is feeding, this is a little hard to clean, but you might want to try some isoproply alcohol and put some on the lead in paper, just enough to get paper wet, and try to allow machine to feed in, or maybe, if paper is already feeding in wet some area before going into machine with alcohol, and press feed button, and allow the paper to feed thru. tear off paper and try the printer test again. if still fails then machine has a problem and will need service.

Printer is saying manual feed insert paper. Will not print

To load paper or other media in the Manual Feed Slot (directly above the Paper Tray)

You can load envelopes and special print media one at a time into this slot. Use the manual feed slot to print or copy on labels, envelopes or thicker paper.

1. Slide the paper guides to fit the paper size.
2. Using both hands put one sheet of paper in the manual feed slot until you feel the front edge of the paper touch the paper feed roller. Let go of the paper when you feel the machine feed the paper in a short distance.

Note: When you put paper in the manual feed slot, please remember the following:
■ The side to be printed on must be face up.
■ Put the leading edge (top of the paper) in first and push it gently into the slot.
■ Make sure that the paper is straight and in the proper position on the manual feed slot. If it is not, the paper may not be fed properly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper jam.
■ Do not put more than one sheet or envelope in the manual feed slot at a time or you may cause the machine to jam.
■ You can remove smaller sizes of printed paper from the output paper tray more easily if you lift the scanner cover using both hands as shown in the illustration.

You can still use the machine when the scanner cover is raised. You can return the scanner cover to its home position by pushing it down with both hands.

If you would like to disable Manual Feed Mode, check that the manual feed mode is not selected in the printer driver.

My printer won't feed paper. All of a sudden my printer quit feeding the paper - the error light comes on and states that there is no paper in the feeder - but there is paper in the feeder

Check the paper feed switch, you have a choice to feed paper from the back or the cassette under the paper exit. Either put paper in both or select the proper source by pressing the feed switch.

Paper feed not working properly

1. first check to see if there is any bits and pieces of paper in any place in the paper carriage -- look very carefully in front access and rear access
2. if this is not the problem, then disconnect printer from computer -- turn off printer, unplug power cord, unplug printer cable from printer
3. gain access to paper roller assembly, usually in rear
4. using lint free cloth, dampened with distilled water clean rollers -- read manual to determine direction of rotation (usually clockwise)
5. keep rotating rollers until all is wiped clean of paper dust
6. reassumble and try a test print as your printer manual directs
