Question about HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Incompatible Ink Cartridge notice with proper HP ink

I was changing an empty black cartridge HP74 with a brand new HP 74XL which is the HP brand and is listed as compatible with this printer. When I took the new cartridge out, and put the old empty cartridge back in - I got the same "Incompatible Ink Cartridge" on the display even though it is compatible and worked right up until it ran out of ink.
I reinstalled the software Unplugged the machine/plugged back in I cleaned the contacts inside the machine and on the new printer cartridge
Any other ideas?

    I tried googling "wirestrip" for the hp printer but I am not coming up with anything. What is the wirestrip and how can I check it?

These types of severe cartridge errors (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", "print cartridge(s) problem", etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #74 / 75 (or 74XL/75XL) cartridge(s) are damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge, are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on most models which use HP 74/75 cartridges. To fix this error is much easier than it looks. Unplug the printer power. Move the ink cartridge cradle to the left. Over to the right you will see a small pad about 1cm square. This pad and the area around should be covered with ink. Get a cloth and press down on this pad - it's not fixed so should come away with the cloth, otherwise use tweezers gently. Squeeze the pad several times between your thumb and forefinger while inside the microfibre cloth to remove ink build up. Then when not much ink comes out on the cloth, clean the area in the printer around the pad so that looks free from ink too. Then position the pad back in place, move the cradle back into position, plug in and switch on - should work fine now.

I replaced the K cartridge and i get this caution. I-Unit End Replace K


If "[Color name] Toner Empty. Replace with a new toner cartridge." is displayed and printing stops, replace with a new toner cartridge.
([Color name] indicates one of the following: C or Cyan, M or Magenta, Y or Yellow, K or Black.)

BROTHER P-TOUCH IS not printing


It is obvious it has a failed electronic component, since these are not repaired/exchanged except when they are under warranty best thing to do is just replace it.

This is codes for the ink cartridge. The code means there is a problem with the cartridge. Change them both and restart the machine.

My Epson WF-3640 is printing with gaps in the text. How do I fix this issue?


Make sure you should remove shipping tape from the ink cartridge. These taps are used to protect printer during shipping but you have to remove it before starting printing. Beacuse these taps prevent the ink to entering in print head. If you will not found shipping tape in your printer then there is terr off strip, remove it. The tear off strip seals the the vent holes on the top of the cartridge to prevent it from drying out on the shelf or during shipping.
After ensuring that the shipping tape has been removed, run the printer's "Head Cleaning" utility to prime the cartridge, then print a test page.

Why is print quality poor after inserting new ink. Copies are faint and have lines


the cartridge is clogged with ink that has dried and reduced the slit. you need to replace the cartridge with a new one. it happens usually if you recharge the cartridge 3 or 4 times with compatible ink.

How to clean ink absorber for canon mp237


First of all open the ink cartridge of your printer.
When the ink cartridge would move all the way over, then disconnect the power cord of your printer.
Now pull the frame of rubber from the printer and remove ink pads.
To clean ink pads you may place them in a bowl having warm water and start rubbing and squeezing them to clean it from ink.
After removal of ink, keep the pads separate for dry.
When the pads get dry completely, place them back in rubber frame.
Reinstall the rubber frame in your printer.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
