If I am not mistaken your video card is an AGP 8X card. If you would like to stay with Nvidia, they have an FX 5700 and FX 5900 series card that would be a nice upgrade. The FX 5900 is better...twice as much memory (256MB) as your present card and twice the pixels per clock.

You can also go to some 512MB cards. Here is a sampling from Tiger Direct. Most are under $100. There are boxes you can compare several together. Read the reviews also.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya.

What is DDR2 graphic cards ? help

Let's make this clear, There are many factors that contribute to a videocard's performance. The BUS which is the connection from the card itself to the Motherboard , though not the most important, is one of them.
PCI is extremely slow compared to PCI express and a videocard with PCI bus suffers from a strong bottleneck that makes it quite unsuitable for 3D graphics.
a PCI card is good as second display adapter to connect extra monitors to your pc: handy feature for data monitoring and multitasking but not that much as a gaming card.
Your motherboard does not have an AGP slot, but also has an Intel integrated graphic chip, so a PCI Nvidia 9400 will be quite a big upgrade, but don't expect high gaming performance...
furthermore Graphic memory speed has a big impact on performance, but size does not.512MB DDR2 is a big but slow memory and 1GB I can say it's totally useless, you need to use a resolution way over full HD to take advantage of it, but a PCI card performs really bad on that.
