That milky substance is just the result of not changing the oil enough, it is water and oil mixed. the water is just condensation that ends up at the highest point, the oil cap. clean it off and it should be fine. make sure that the oil is at the correct level.

Kia optima engine ticking

sounds like lower end bearing damage (connecting rod) when oil level drops at interstate speed a connecting rod bearing will seize very quickly thus causing the bearing to spin in the rod and enlarge clearance . that is the knocking sound you here .

I have a knocking sound coming from the passenger side of the engine, and it all started when my mom drove it and said that the oil was really low and so she put more in now it sounds like we have a rod...

You should not blame *********** it could be that it has too much oil in it or since it was low to begin with and alot of miles you now have a rod knock that means you need to rebuild or replace your engin

1997 ford explorer V6. Engine was idling to warm up, went in house for 10 minutes. Came out engine smoking knocking like crazy. Shut off engine and opened hood, oil was sprayed all over engine oil...

this sounds like the engine oil cooler hose was leaking.

DO NOT run the engine again until you fill with oil.

start the engine and look for the hose that is leaking.

My 2000 passart is showing OIL PRESS. STOP MOTOR. i aslo noticed pubbles in the oil. i also opened the cap while it was running to check oil splash i could not get oil in my palm . is the pump gone. the...

well it could be a couple of things.. not all vehicles throw oil in the head... i would suggest checking the oil pressure by taking the oil sending unit out of the side of the block, and putting an oil press tester on it.. if its showing good pressure the oil sending unit you took out its bad.. it keeps the light out, thus if it goes bad the light will come on... if the pump were out of the vehicle the top end would knock really bad.. hope this helps... if it doesnt knock then i would say its just a faulty oil sending unit.. the nearest parts store should be able to tell you exactly where its at.. it should be on the side of the engine facing the headlights/grill

I get knocking when engine gets hot stopped (on D,1,2,3 or R). There is no check engine light, it is not LOW ON OIL, I have installed a new idler pully, put a new power steering pump on, spark plugs, fan...

Sounds like it could be low on oil PRESSURE. Or possibly bad bottom end (main bearings). A lot of times when the clearences are excessive in the main bearings, oil pressure will drop considerably once the oil is hot and has a lower viscosity. Sorry about the caps, just wanted to clarify the difference.

KNOCKING ENGINE

Hi. There are two main issues that will cause the engine to knock. The first will be the oil pump. If the oil pump is failing, or damaged, this will produce a low oil pressure state. Low oil pressure will cause the internals to not receive the necessary lubrication needed for optimal performance. This low pressure state will cause the rod bearings to ware, thus, producing this knocking noise. This will be accompanied by a low pressure, or illuminated oil light. The next issue will be worn, or damaged rod bearings. These vital bearings can fail if the bearing clearance is excessive, or worn. They will, also, fail if the oil supply is not sufficient. This inspection will require you to drain all oil and coolant, and the dropping of the oil pan, to expose these bearings.Worn, or excessive bearing clearances will cause a knock.

NOTE_ There is another issue that i should warn of. If There is sufficient sludge build up in this engine, due to not changing the oil regularly, or not administering scheduled engine flushing, this will cause the internal oil ports to clog up, thus, inducing poor oil circulation. This will damage the entire engine. If you have not had this engine flushed, i would recommend to schedule this , asap.

My engine knocks loud and Í dont know what to

If the knocking is a 'tinging' sound...valves are shot. The Paseo has an issue with the head getting warped and leaking oil through the gasket, if the oil has been low too often for lengths of time the head heats and warps.
Open the oil cap and feel around inside with your finger (ensure engine is off and cooled first) rub your fingers together to feel for grit which would most likely be valve shavings. This should be easy to find since it's recently had an oil change.
Worse case scenario would be a rod broken but that would be a LOUD knocking/bonking sound and definitely expensive.

ENGINE KNOCKS ON DECELERATION

When you say pressure appears high, what happens when you remove the cap? Oil spitting out, the sound of z "heavy breathing"?
You say PCV is fine, I gather it shows suction when removed while the engine is running. So put it back.
With the engine idling, remove the oil cap and block off the opening with yout hand. Do you feel pressure then, or suction? Or neither? I think I would expect either neither, or slight ****. In which case, all is good.
