Question about NetGear DG834G Router
I have a WGT624 v3 router and the wireless part has quit working, I can still get on the internet from my PC but cannot get the wireless from my two laptops.
It was working but all of a sudden just stopped. I bought another router a WGT624 v4 but when I try to get it to load the software it wont. Do I need to uninstall the old hardware first to load the new one?
I work from home and cant afford to screw up my internet connection so please help. I also tried to reload the disc for the old WGT327 v3 but it would not let me log in because it would not take the password I had set up before.
If you're having problems communicating with your old router try to reset it by pressing on the reset button and then hold for 30seconds first. if you just press on it quickly, the router will not reset. this is the last option because by resetting it, your router will go back to its default settings and the un/pw is admin and password or admin and leave password blank

Tips for a great answer:
My wireless connection is not working and i cannot log on to it, I have connected a Netgear WGT624 V3 Wireless Router to my Motorola SurfBoard SB5101E Modem which is connected to Telewest Cable Broadband (internet works fine if i access directly through the modem), on the router the power light is lit and also the internet light flashes rapidly but the wireless light comes on for a couple of
seconds and then goes out - i think this is the problem? I have tried logging on to the router to check the wireless settings but cannot access it, i have also tried connecting directly via LAN but cannot get this to work either although i am not sure if i have connected it correctly?
Any ideas/comments/advice is very much appreciated!!
Thanks in advance,

I did two things to resolve this issue
1. Downgrade the router to a lower version. If your router is Netgear WGT624 v3 use this link to downgrade your router
(this help to avoid getting a errro message "Unable to join network")
2. Reconfigure you Wifi network by going to setting ---->under choose a network---> others-----> Enter your SSID name (seen at the back of your router) ----->under the security tab selet the same encyrption standard as that of your router which you can see when you log in to the router (usually router IP 192.168.1.1) ---->setup ------>wireless setting----> security option. This one helps you to join your home wifi as soon as you enter your home.
I hope this one works as it worked for me
