It's overheating.'F61' means the fan is not working properly, or is block with dust. check that it is turning properly, and vacuum it for dust. I can't recommend this, but if it is still overheating, try removing the cover and **** out all the dust.  Be careful!  Even when unplugged there are live components inside. Don't touch anything!

I got panasonic- sa-ak240 stereo system i get F61 on the display then it shuts down to standbye.

F61 is an Error Code......it's basically indicating that something inside the stereo is malfunctioning or broken.

the stereo has gone into Protection mode.....could mean there is Direct Current on one of the output rails....most likely the Power Amplifier IC in your Stereo has gone bad....a new one should solve this problem....you'll need to send it in to Panasonic for replacement of the faulty parts.

Hi,
f61 is a protection code. it means theres is a fault with audio output ic, usually there is dc on one of the speaker output rails, replacing the audio output ic will usually cure this but check speakers and leads for shorts before reconnecting to the unit.

Thank You

f61 is a bad voltage code. I will probably need an output ic or a voltage ic.

Technics dvd stereo sound processor sh-dv290

The F61 is essentially a "protect mode" mesage. A problem was detected and the unit shuts down. This translates into either the amp pac being defective ($approx $95 for part) or a defective regulator circuit (less $$). In either case, the repair is not the simplest to do. Check around for a Panasonic authorized service center and call to get an estimate. This is a relatively common fault, so you should be able to get a ballpark repair cost.

Old technics sl-eh60

bad / old wore out parts in the power supply. Some parts actually need an electrical flow throgh them to maintain stability. If there is no power through some parts like capacitors they tend to go bad. More then likely bad caps.
