SOURCE: husband has a ps2 controller that works when it feels like it

Sorry, I didn't quite understand the question, so are you actually using the wireless PS2 controller on the PS3?? Or it is for the PS2??
When i had a PS2, I brought a 'Logitech' controller for it and it worked well for about 6months, then after that the analogues started playing up and going funny. Same thing with the 'MadCats' PS2 contorller.
Now I have a PS3, and I just brought a new SONY PS3 Dual shock controller and works perfect. The logitech one is half the price, but i trust Sony more than other brands coz it is more reliable. I dunno if this helps, but if you're willing to spend abit more it's actually worth it.
You can check on eBay for an original PS2/3 controller which would cheaper than buying one in the stores.
Cheers~

The controller is only connecting with the receptor (plugged into the ps2 controller slot) for brief periods of time, then the light starts flashing and the controller won't work. it is not the batteries...

It may be a matter of distance. Try using the controller at different distances from the receiver (both closer and farther) and see if it helps. If not, there may be interference from another wireless device. Look around for things that might be causing interference, like a nearby wireless router or a wireless internet modem.

If none of those things are present then your remote or receiver are actually broken.

Dual controllers not working

Each wireless controller needs its own wireless receiver. Assuming you have two separate receivers and controllers, there are several possible causes to your problem:

- one of the receivers is faulty
- both receivers are using the same channel

Try both receivers with both controllers individually - if every combination works individually, they are working on the same frequency - exchange one.

Guitar hero wireless guitar with PS2, guitar sync light seems to flash normally, but the receiver on the PS2 seems completly dead, can we change just the receiver part ?

Yes you can change just the receiver. There isn't anything wrong with your guitar so just change the receiver. The wireless guitars work with any other PS2 wireless guitar hero guitar receivers.

PS2 black console does not communicate with controllers

Sounds like you have wireless Controllers. Be sure your batteries are good on the Controller and the controller is turned on, LED should light. Plug the receiver into the controller jack, and it should light up at least one LED. If you have channel number selector, set it to the same number on the controllers, channel selector.

If old wired controllers will work, then you have dud wireless controllers. I know that cheap poor quality wireless controllers exist out there. You may have a dud. I also know that sometimessomething kills the controller ports on the PS2. The only way to know is to hook a wired controller you know works into the port to see if the port is good or bad.

Wireless logitech for ps2!!!

Well.. first of all.. do you have the receiver part to plug into the ps2? If you don't.. you aren't going to get it to work.. sorry..

If you do.. check the batteries and make sure you "pair" them up.. there may be a button on both the receiver and the controller to "match up"..

Hope that helps.

If you have a wireless controller change the batteries and if you have a normal controller blow out the plug or call Sony.
