Need more information.... model of the computer, operating system, does it always freeze when you are doing something specific....

to many background programs running use the start button go to run command type msconfig.exe under startup diable all but antivirus and antispyware protection and reboot and defrag. add more ram
if the problem consist you may be infected or have corrupted files
