Question about Televison & Video
Someone gave me an old Zenith Model SS1917B3. I have checked on-line for a manual and have had no success. I can't see anything on the back of the set describing a digital tuner.
SOURCE: Does my TV have a digital tuner?
no that TV does not have a digital tuner on it, it does support digital signals via a digital set top box

if there is a label on the tv stating any of these words “Integrated Digital Tuner,” “Digital Tuner Built-In,” “Digital Receiver,” or “Digital Tuner,” “DTV,” “ATSC,” or “HDTV” then yes
if they say “Digital Monitor” or “HDTV Monitor,” or as “Digital Ready” or “HDTV Ready" then no

I have the same problem.... On the back of the tv, there are three coax spots. One is for Cable, one is antenna decoder, and another is a loop. I have had zero luck getting any of those to receive the signal. Instead i have ran my digital signal to a vcr, then ran rca cables from it to my tv. I then put my tv in vcr mode, or aux depending on where you hooked it up. You can watch tv through your vcr this way.

if you are going to continue using the rooftop antenna, then you will nee to purchase a digital converter box. Those television sets are only analog. You do have an option to get Directv or Dish network and you will not need a converter box at all. Directv and Dish network are 100% Digital and the receivers work as converter boxes for that product only.
