Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

110.26842692 series 80, tries to spin while pumping out.

This is intermittent. Also I noted that if the lid is opened during a normal working pump out, when you close it, it starts spinning and continues to try to pump out rest of water.

Correctm the lid will need to be closed to spin/drain water, if your experiencing an issue that it intermittenly stops during thiscycle, possible that the lid switch is GOING bad, and not always making contact.

Washer will not spin or rinse, will not drain the tub. Kenmore/80 series

The first thing I check it the lid switch.themobilian_1816.jpg If the lid is open the water won't pump out.themobilian_1817.jpg
The pump is mounted on the motor and discharges water when in spin mode. themobilian_1818.jpgolder models pump and spin while newer models pump first then spin thanks to a neat feature called a spin pawl.
If the lid switch is fine check for objects in the pump or a locked up pump. The newer model s discharge water first, If sand or other objects are in the pump it will over heat and do a meltdown.
Here is a nice home video that shows a pump with meltdown:

Their are several different models and all have a quirky way of getting into them. However they all have to have the controls flipped up to get into them. Video how to:

I have service manual and more vids HERE

I have a kenmore 80 series washing machine. During the second cycle it stopped working. It won't drain or spin. What should I do?

If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Mod. 110.29852992 80 series will not pump out

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.29852992&pathTaken=partSearch

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

If it neither drains nor spins, the first thing to check is the Lid Switch. This prevents the machine from draining and spinning if the lid is open.

I assume that you cannot hear the motor trying to turn.

See the following for how to access the console and Lid Switch connection.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131&osCsid=6f8112b458c05fcc8f6d1a4139b9a723

Following is a Whirlpool installation and maintenance PDF on top load, direct drive washers. It has a description of how to by-pass the switch.

It also has a troubleshooting guide.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

To bypass the switch, you only have to disconnect the power to the washer, remove the two plastic clips from the console, remove the two screws under the clips, pull the console forward and tilt the console back, unplug the switch and using an short piece of insulated wire, jump the two outermost contacts on the connector coming from the console and plug the washer back in.

With the jumper in place, try to re-start the washer.

If it works, the Lid Switch is a relatively inexpensive part.

My Kenmore, 80 Series, washer stops at the spin cycle; I open the lid push the knob in and then close the lid and it restarts, but this happens everytime I wash clothes. What is wrong with the machine? Is...

Most likely a bad timer.
Set the machine to wash.
When it gets to the spin cycle it should pump out the water.
Then there will be a PAUSE(silence) from the machine for several seconds. During this time the transmission will engage the spin gears(audible sound).
If there is NO PAUSE the timer is bad.
When you open and close the lid you are artificially creating the pause.

Wont drain or spin

Does it click when closing the lid ? Sometimes , the lid switch arm , will work inserting something into it , but not with the lid closed . Try checking it useing the lid itself . Occasionally , the arm wears to where it has to be pushed farther down to work so the actuator on the lid cannot push it far enough down .if you have to replace the lid switch for it to work properly or bypass the lid switch it needs to be from under the console .do not drop screws in between the tubs

Won't spin, makes clunking noise, drains fine

If it agitates fine , with normal noise , drains with lid closed , then the problem is probably the transmission .
