Replaced the digital main cba now the voltage is too high in the

Voltage is too high in the power supply and I need a schematic for this and I do not get any help from Funai I am a tv repairman

Have you tried googling the model number, funai is no help if you dont have a contract with them. Finding schematics for their powersupplies is hard, a majority of the time its better to just buy another ps because many of the parts they use wont cross to NTE. Are the voltages coming out of the ps just high? If they are one of the boards might be bad, I had a funai tv that had a bad board and was keeping the rest of the tv from powering up so the volatges I was getting were high due to the lower load. Also check for a schematic for that specific panel as funai uses LG panels in their stuff.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

How do I test a High Voltage Transformer on my Vizio VU42L-FHDTV10A?


It could be the main board. The main board controls the standby light on the front of the set. Check and verify that your 5vdc standby voltage is working. Next, I would check the "on" or "ps on" input on the power supply board. When you turn the set on (either my side buttons or remote) the main board should send a 3.3vdc signal into the "on" terminal on the power supply. This "on" signal from the main board turns on the other half of the power supply thus turning on your set. If you are not getting this signal from the main board, I would suspect the main board. To test your power supply, you can simply put a jumper from 5vdc to the "on" terminal on the power supply. Your 12vdc, and 24vdc power supplies should then become active.

That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..

Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:
1. Open the back cover.
2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..

Powers up , has audio but no picture


Plasma sets have two separate power supplies; the main supply produces voltage for everything and may even produce a specific voltage for the high voltage required by the plasma display.
In your case, it is likely that the latter (HV) supply has failed.
This may be a separate board and if so, may be user replaceable since these are normally outsourced and just plugged into the set during assembly.
Removing the back of the housing, you are likely to see at least three boards. One of them (the main board) will have many components and most will be smaller in size. The main power supply will have much larger parts on it and the high voltage supply will likely be connected to it and have far fewer parts than the other boards.
It is possible but unlikely, that the main power supply is not providing voltage to the HV board for the display.
If replacement of the HV board doesn't restore the display, then it will be necessary to replace the main power supply too.

Hello I am repairing a philips tv 32pfl3504d/f7. I replaced the main power supply CBA and the inverter CBA and still have the same problem. The power light comes on when the unit is plugged in and blinks...


This problem it is the main tv Tuner signal board it is dead also.Beside the power supply board.This problems have nothing to do with the long LCD invert board.

I have a 2 year old 50 inch samsung plasma tv - first the picture went out and then the sound went out. Now nothing comes on. Anyone have any suggestions? Kevin


I don't know your set but the way it failed is noteworthy and possibly revealing.
Plasma sets have a little in common with the sets of 30 years ago; they use phosphors to convert electrons into light and the electrons are accelerated with a high voltage.
Loss of the video first indicates the high voltage section (or separate supply using input from a main supply) failed in a way causing the main supply to fail with the loss of audio and complete death.
If it was my set; I would pull the AC plug, allow the set to remain overnight to allow any residual voltage to decay, remove the back, look for a separate assembly the seems related to the AC cord coming in. This should be the main power supply and will have a primary fuse which is likely blown. If it isn't soldered in, replace it. If it blows again, you will need a tech to proceed. The second failure means the high voltage section (or separate supply) has a component failed that is causing the main supply to fail or at least overload so replacing it again isn't logical or productive. If it doesn't blow, you will probably only have audio and a separate fuse in the high voltage section has blown and protected the main supply from damage. It isn't likely that replacing the supply (or supplies) is a straightforward DIY project and there is a slim chance even if you did, that the plasma display is faulty and that the failure would repeat itself.
Because of the problems with shipping a set of this size unless you have retained the original packing material means you will need on-site service and it will be expensive.
It's a pity, but a fact, that our much more complex sets are just not as reliable (at least yet) than the mature designs of the earlier conventional TVs.

We have a Toshiba 52 inch TV, model # TP50G50, manafactor date on it is July 1997. The picture & the sound went out all at once, do you know if it's a fuse or something more serious? It's hard to haul...


It is a power supply fault. The power supply is a switched mode power supply and supplies 5 volts for the difital logic and high voltages for the high voltage parts of the tv relating to the screen display components. When the high voltage part of the circuit breaks or goes short circuit then the power supply shuts that part down leaving the low voltage rail of 5 volts..hence the standby still working. So... you need to be looking at the power supply board where the mains goes in but be aware of the mains voltages in this area if you arent experienced in electrics. The board will still hold 240v if the power supply has an open circuit load

No power


On the power supply board there will be a connector that says PO which means power on from the main board. Make sure that goes High when you press the power button. Make sure your stby voltages are ok on the PS. If the PO goes High then the power supply needs repaired. A lot of the ic's on these boards are not available for us to buy, so you have to replace the board. If it doesn't go high then the main board is at fault, gets a little more tricky with that, but not impossible.
