You will need either a USB or PCMCIA sound card to bypass the one you have that does not work

Go here for the USB one

Go here for the PCMCIA one

What type CMOS battery will fit a 1W766 motherboard

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/ussoho1/Product/inspiron-8600

You have to order the battery from a dell service center.

It look like this:

But here could be a difference depeding how old the laptop is.
Here is the other type:

Dell m/b service manual

You either have a Dell Inspiron One 2205 or 2305 therefore you should be able to get the motherboard (system board) info that you need by downloading or viewing the manuals from the links below:

If you have a Dell Inspiron One 2205 then look here:

Looking for windows 7 drivers for the Genius hs-500x headset

The Genius hs-500x headset simply plugs into your headphone and microphone jacks on your computer.

The microphone jack is red and the headphone jack is green.

The audio settings are changed within the communication application you are using like skype or gaming.

Where does the green plug go in dell laptop inspiron 1520 for boston acoustics BA735 older sub woofer and speakers from old gateway desktop computer

Hi.

With the laptop facing towards you look down the left hand side of the laptop for an icon that looks like this >>>
leecom72_12.jpg

Next to that icon is where the green jack plug plugs in so you can use external speakers.

Regards.

Hi my dell inspiron 1520 not starting when power button is switched on..the power light blinks and goes off..and the system doesnt start. I had shown the laptop ito dell service center and they have...

Hello.

The most common reasons are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

But, if you paid for the Dell service, Dell needs to fix the problem. Sounds like they replaced the motherboard with another faulty one.

Hope this helps.

Power Jack Repair Advice Needed

Hi,
The repair really isn't too complicated most times. hardest part is usually removing the old one. I haven't looked up that specific model, they all are different but all the same. Some are placed on a separate small board. some are soldered to the main board. If your considering purchasing replacement board anyways, I would try and fix it and then if that doesn't work exercise your other options.
Thank you,
Lee

Exact same thing

Usually this means replacing the motherboard, but you could also have a bad power supply/charger. How old is the computer and is it still under warranty?
