Question about Sharp 19 in. LCD HDTV

Have lost sound on several od our channels

Our LCD Sharp 19" tv is two years old and has lost the sound on several channels. The picture is great just no sound.

Thank you for your concern. Yes the problem is solved. It turns out the cable company did something to change the settings on our audio. Don't ask me what or how they did it but someone told us about it and how to correct it

I have a Sharp 19 with no sound on some channels.


Make sure it is not on the SAP or secondary audio setting. Some channels broadcast English and Spanish or English and Silence. If you are set on the second audio broken you may hear nothing. Check your manual.

TO: rdh041: I don't have the solution to you problem, but we have the exact same problem with our Sharp AQUOS 20" LC tv. Different model than yours, but same age and same perplexing issue. Several channels suddenly have no sound. If you've found a solution, would you please post it? I'll do the same. Thanks.

An LCD unit? Sounds like the backlight is failing. When it goes black next time, use a strong light next to the screen and look for a faint image on the screen....

If it is the backlight, its a service shop issue.

the lcd tv hhave somethig like a bulb and after a period of use that bulb must be changed. take the tv on service. the service man wil see what is the problem most accurate.

Tv problems


Ckocanda, check to see if your picture is a little darker on one side than the other. Typical Sharp problem is the inverters. Tell that to your service guy when you take it in for repair.
