This is how I managed to fix the psp error 80020148. Ok I found some program online that works on my 3.40 OE-A and it rips the UMD games for me. but when I went to play them the "The game could not be started. (80010002)" message came up. Then I tried to play the original game (UMD DISK) I got this message "The game could not be started. (80020148)". So I went online here is what i found...... TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOLLOW THESE STEPS: 1. Goto Recovery Menu (turn off then hold R and turn on)2. Configuration -> Use NO-UMD (Disable it)3. Go all the way back to main menu4. Advanced -> Advanced Configuration -> (Disable all of them)
its simple yet complicated. now if the person you want to play online with has the same umd both of u should turn on ur wlan and select multiplayer in game selection menu or if the person u want to play online with doesn't have the same umd but the umd you have has a gaame sharing option u guys should turn on ur wlan and the person with the umd should select gamesharing in the game selection menu then the other should go to gamesharing in the home screen menu.
hope this works for u
I have the same problem and I spent so many hours on searching the solution. there is only 1 solution, downgrade to 5.00 m33-6 and you will b able to play midnight club, Chain of Olymous etc. but to play new games u will have to patch those for m33-6. u can also find pre-patched games on internet if u know where to look. if u want me to post the tutorials, i can do so.

or still doesn't work bring it to PSP Repair. it might be Your PSP Device might have problem let them fix it for you
Sometimes the PSP's will freeze for one reason or another. In most cases the psp will turn off within a minute and then restart itself. If not disconnect any power supply and remove the battery for a moment to manually reset it. Hopefully you saved recently.
