SOURCE: replacing X-Drive in PDP-4340HD (power supply problems)

Before you call pioneer, you need to be sure your media box had plenty of ventalition on the back.
Secondly,if you could locate another connection cable(one from the media box to the tv)and have it replace your existing one and see if that works.
Once you have tried both troublshootings shown above with no result,at this point, you should call 1-800-pioneer.best time to call will be Tuesday-Thursday at 7am PST.

SOURCE: Pioneer PDP-503PU

Very possible, but yet, this might be the manufacturer defect power supply which they will fix it for you free;but before we jump to this conclusion, you need to test it first:
-Unplug the power cords.
-Unplug the media video cable from the box to the tv.
-Check all the pins on the video cable are in place as well as the connectors both behind the TV and the media box.
-Reconnect the media box and TV with the video cable(DVI+VGA in one) and have at least a video component hook up to it(ex. dvd player/VCR or comcast box) be sure this video player is turn on and running,at the same time,be sure it is under the right video input.
If you have tried the above steps but still doesn't work, call 1-800-pioneer Tuesday-Thursday at7amPST and address your issue to them.
Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Pioneer plasma won't turn on

There are possibly two issues here.
The PDP screen requires the tuner box to work.
Or
The power supply has a few daughter boards that can fail on the main power supply.

PDP - 436PG display turns off then straight off and the red standby flashes 3 times, pauses then repeats

That is an error code that likely means power supply issue and based on brand not likely to be a do it yourself fix. Consider having a authorized Pioneer service center look at it and get an estimate.

My plasma PDP-503HDE exploded: a saw a flash flollowed by some smoke and it doesn't work any more

hi,
You have to check the power supply board. Its a common problem with the power supply of the Pioneer PDP. As it is using smd coponnents there is no repair possible with the power supply . You have to replace the power supply board with a new one. You can find the part number in the board. Serch with the part number to find a new board.

We have had problems switching on our Pioneer PDP-507XD plasma tv. The standby light just flashes. We were advised to change the power supply unit. We hav4e done this and it has not solved the problem ...

I've been running across a lot of plasma tvs where the power supplies are not bad, but the X & Y-sustain boards are faulty. My advice is to change those boards out as they are responcible for lighting the plasma gasses in the tv. You can attempt to replace one at a time (cost reasons), but it is recommended to changed both at once.

Hope this helps, please rate. :)
