What Vivitar Flash? If an older model with only pc cord connection, you will need a Nikon AS-15 adapter. But you must also reaalize that if the firing voltage is more than 500volts, this may and possibly will screw up the camera if not the flash circuitry. Better off safe witha WEIN SAFE SYNCH HOT SHOE TO PC ADAPTER. Mounts to hot shoe on camera and allows pc connection cord to flash.

I can get my 50mm lens to work with my d70 nikon.

If the lens has an aperture ring, make sure it is set on the largest f number. Make sure the lens is mounted fully on camera. Oherwise an AF 50mmm f1.8 lens should work on a D70 with no problem

I just bought the Tokina SD 12-24 F4 (IF) DX wide-angle lens for my D70, and it does not autofocus. I'm being told by the company I bought it from that i am past their 2 week return policy. Does this lens...

Only the MkII version of this lens has an autofocus motor built in, the MkI relies on a motor in the body of some Nikon AF SLRs to autofocus. The D70 does not have an inbuilt AF drive motor, so if you have the MkI lens then you can only use it in manual focus mode on your camera.

Lense not working

Have you turned the lens aperture ring to the lowest value (32) and locked it with the little button thing?
Sorry if you know about this.

It wont focus or take pictue

Hey harleymomma,
If the d70 is set to AF-S mode focus has to be achieved for the shutter to be allowed to take the photo. In some exposure modes the aperture must be locked down on the smallest aperture. I would also make sure the contacts are clean that allow communication between the body and the lens. Of course you need to make sure the body and the lens are set to autofocus. If none of this works I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

The internal circuit board, or the internal harness may be at fault. You will have to send the lens to Nikon for service.
