    No they are sony.

  • jegs5 Dec 11, 2008

It's never been opened but dropped a few times : )

  • jegs5 Dec 12, 2008

It usually has just slid off and landed on the bottom and it is the slim version

  • jegs5 Dec 12, 2008

He borrowed it from a freind of his, the game is guitar hero 3 legends of rock. The first card was his freinds and the second one was ours. You can access both from the browser and see what all has been saved but will not load from either. We have since wiped out the second card and it seems that this may have worked, at least for awhile. What causes the data to get corrupted? I think that this happened before with Mortal Combat too. With that one I just bought new cards and started all over and haven't had the problem since.

  • jegs5 Dec 12, 2008

It seems just guitar hero files are corrupted. Need for speed, mortal combat, destroy all humans etc..are fine

  • jegs5 Dec 12, 2008

Rather do that than having to replace the system. He is getting the complete system for Christmas (drums and all), really didn't want to have to take that back. Thanks for all your help.

Have you opened the system at all?

  • Justin Washburn Dec 12, 2008

do you know if its ever landed on the controller ports? I used to see this prob all the time, what happens is the impact (if this is the case) cause the control board inside to snap, which model ps2 do you have? big or slim?

  • Justin Washburn Dec 12, 2008

Are you playing Guitar hero 2? Also can you access the memory card from the browser all the time? Or does it disappear from there also even when its connected?

  • Justin Washburn Dec 12, 2008

Since you can still access the memory card from the browser when you go into the memory card is all the save files there or is it wiped lean? From what I understand there were some programming glitches in the guitar hero series that was corrupting files, this happened to a friend of mine also. Thsi sort of thing will also happen if the system is turned off while it is saving or loading. But what im wondering is if the save files from other games are intact, or if just the guitar hero file is being corrupted.

  • Justin Washburn Dec 12, 2008

Ok, thats what I thought, its the game, not the system. This would be a programming glitch, I would make a opy of the save on another memory card evey so often. I know it sucks having to do the songs all over again, having to unlock eveything over. My best recommendaition is to make a backup copy of the save when ever you can through the browser. The good news is that it isnt your system most likely.

I have a Playstation 2. I was about to play a game (Spyro: A Hero's Tail) and licked on 'load game' when the screen came up with a message saying, 'Load failed! Data could not be loaded...

Try starting the game without the memory card. If it starts up then you know that you have a bad memory card.

Memory Card Guitar Hero 3

Try this... if you have another Mem card then insert it in second slot and start Sony browser now copy your save game data form Mem card 1 to Mem card 2. Place the second mem card in first slot and start game now load your game. Best of luck.

Ps2 memory card

First of all, make sure the card is in slot one. I'm not sure about Guitar Hero 3, but I know many games default to searching the first slot (the one on your left as you look at the system).

Assuming that's not the problem, it could be a sign that your memory card is wearing out. Do you have a second memory card? If not, I suggest getting one. Either way, put one card in each slot, and go into the browser. Copy the Guitar Hero saves over to the other card, then put that card in slot 1 and see if it works. If it does, I suggest copying all your saved games over to the new card, and throwing the old one out before you lose any save games permanently.

My memory card slot 1 doesn't work can I change the unit so that games will save to slot 2 instead or how do I swap the slots in the unit

Hi,

When you choose to save when you are in any game, on the save screen you can choose to save to slot 2 provided there is a memory card inserted in slot 2.

Ps2 memory card

Hi Lofatman,

If this problem happens with the memory card when its in either slot 1 or slot 2

I suggest you clean the contacts of the memory card.

If it just happens when you have in Slot 1 or Slot 2 only,

Go to Radio Shack and get a Can of contact cleaner that has a Brush built into the Spray nozzle.

  1. Turn off the PS2 and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Use a small screwdriver to press open the memory card slot. Do not use too much force, its delicate.
  3. Push the Brush sprayer up into the memorycard slot and spray a little and brush away at the memory slot contacts.

if you do not have success with that, you must open the PS2 case, and Remove the Controler ports and clean up the whole controller port assembly.

If that doesn't work, and your frustrated and not Electronically skilled enough to do this.  I can get the PS2 in tip top shape, for $32 and that includes return shipping.  I run the website www.playstationclinic.com

This should put you in business.
