Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a 6 month old HP Pavilion tower with monitor. I haven't used it in a month or so, and when I turned it on today, it seems to make more noise (i.e.-the fan) than it did before. In fact, it seemed very quiet before, whereas now it is quite loud. This I could handle, but it is also not booting up. I've tried two different monitors with it and nothing is showing up on the screen. Can you help?

Thanks for your reply. Looks like I'll have to use my warranty.

Hp pavilion a1220n comptur will not start unplugged unit and when i plugged to back in it would not start

Do you see anything on the monitor screen? Does the tower make any beeping noise or clicking noise, or does the fan tries to start up when you power the computer on? Are the cables connected properly?
If you see anything on the monitor screen, or if you hear a beeping sound, let us know so we can diagnose further.

I just changed my tower and now my hp pavilion is going to sleep

I assume you have already try with other PC with the same result. You may have bad solder joints on the four inductors in the inverter circuits. Service manual: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/40333/HP_F1703.html

Hp pavilion a705w Light flashed in front and back on and off

Try a different monitor with your PC. If it does the same thing then you know the problem is with your PC. Also connect your PC to a different monitor. If it works OK then your monitor is bad. Does it beep at startup? Describe beep codes and someone on this website will decipher them for you. This might help to diagnose the problem.

HP a400n monitors

Sure but you shouldn't need to tell the computer what type of monitor it is, windows should simply send the signal to the monitor and poof up comes your display, more advanced versions may auto-detect or youc an select it in the control panel under display. Try craigslist to pick up a cheap monitor in your area. I got a 15'' flat for 20 bucks.
