b>All you want to do is view a particular website, but when you open Internet Explorer and type in the web address or click on the page in your Internet Explorer Favorites, the page does not appear. Instead, you read a message announcing that the page cannot be displayed. Through some troubleshooting, you can determine whether the issue is with your connection, the website you are trying to view or Internet Explorer. Once the problem has been identified, it might be an uncomplicated fix.
Find out whether you can view any web pages. Open Internet Explorer and type in the address of a site with which you are unfamiliar. If you need an idea, look around the room and type in a brand name you see, such as Phillips.com" or "Teak.com." The reason for this is that if you have recently visited a site, the "cached" files might appear on your screen and not provide an accurate determination. If you are able to see a new site, the issue is likely with the website you are trying to visit. Check the connection to the modem or router. If you are unable to view any web pages, your connection might have been lost. Check physical connections to see if anything is unplugged. If you are using a wireless connection, verify that it is still working. Unplug the modem. Pull both the power cord and the phone line or Ethernet plug out of the back of the modem and leave it alone for a few minutes. Plug the cords back in and allow it to power up completely. Try the connection again. Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help Click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options or Click start control panel internet options you will see a home page box To Create Page Tabs type each adress on its own line (type in google.com) or your preferred home page and browser below that will be change search defaults click on settings you will see all search Providers Toolbar extensions and Accelerators you have have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them
Click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode type in ipconfig press enter you will see all of your internet connection details or type in your default gateway adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138 to get an inertnet connection Contact your Internet service provider. A cable, DSL or phone line outage is a common cause for connectivity issues. Delete Internet Explorer's history. Close any open applications and open a new Internet Explorer window. Click "Tools" and then click "Delete Browsing History." Click each "Delete" button, except passwords if you allow IE to retain them for you. Hope this helps.
Accessing the System Control Center To open the System Control Center on a web browser installed on a computer that is connected to the satellite modem, double-click the System Control Center shortcut on your computer desktop, or follow these steps: 1. Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape. 2. In the browser address bar, type www.systemcontrolcenter.com or 192.168.0.1 and press Enter. Note: To use 192.168.0.1, the satellite modem must be configured for a private address, and DHCP must be enabled on the computer. The System Control Center home page appears as shown in Figure 8: System Control Center home page on page 9. If you are unable to access the System Control Center, refer to Cannot Access the System Control Center on page 34. Creating a shortcut to the System Control Center You can create a Windows shortcut on your computer desktop for easy access to the System Control Center home page. Note: As part of the installation process, the person who installed your satellite modem creates a shortcut to the System Control Center, so there should already be a shortcut on your desktop—unless it has been deleted. 1. Open a web browser. Note: The method described here works for Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. It may work with other browsers. 2. Type www.systemcontrolcenter.com or 192.168.0.1 in the browser address bar and press Enter. Note: To use 192.168.0.1, the satellite modem must be configured for a private IP address, and DHCP must be enabled on the computer. The System Control Center home page appears. 3. Drag the icon that appears in front of the address displayed in the browser to the computer desktop.
try downloading and installing firefox web brwoser, then use this instead of internet explorer... you may just have a bug in your internet explorer and it is so much easier to use firefox than to try and repair a faulty internet explorer.
Hi, first of all, just scan your full system with a antivirus application, I recomendate Norton Anti Virus with latest updater. Make sure that no virus is doing this kinda problem in your system. And then let me know.
First thing to do is try to connect to the Internet without AOL then sign on to AOL using the broadband connection. When Internet Explorer is open, even without a connection, go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections and check the 'Never Dial a Connection', Click on Advanced and check the 'Automatically Detect Settings' check box. If you are not connecting to the Internet then turn off or unplug the power to the modem, turn it back on and wait 2 minutes. If you don't connect then do the same with the router power. If you still haven't connected using just Internet Explorer, NOT AOL, then talk to your router directly:) Do this by Start>Run>type http://192.168.1.1 (Linksys) or http://192.168.10.1 (Motorola). A logon screen appears. User Name is the manufacturer's name and 'admin' is the password. A web page or dashboard will appear. For a cable modem select DHCP. For DSL select PPPoE. Static addresses can also be entered if you know what they are but probably not. When you see ip addresses listed open Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Chrome or whatever browser flavor you like EXCEPT AOL. Once connected to the Internet then go to AOL. More specifics on your broadband service and hardware makes will get you more specific help if you need. Happy surfing!
