I have a RCA entertainment series PIP. The problem is that suddenly the sound isnt working properly. The picture is perfectly fine, but the sound is just like loud static. However when I hook up my sons video game, the sound works fine. What is the problem? Thanx - Kellie

    Under audio :

    Variable Output speakers ON

    Variable Output speakers OFF

    Fixed Output speakers OFF

Is any of that of any signifigance? What really confuses me is that when I hook up the video game (through the back of the TV w/ the yellow white and red plugs) the sound works fine. But when i go to watch TV no sound, prefect picture but static sound

Just  unplug the unit from mains, take the back off, use compressed air to clean the dust and dirt out of it. Then check the soldiering joints and give it a quick look. then plug it back in and the sound will work. but if the soldering joints are not proper just make them proper by resoldering then let it dry it will work.mostly this is caused due to dust collection.

Hi, i've got a Emachine EM250 Series and the sound has suddenly stopped working saying "No Audio Device" but when i go onto device manager says "This device is working properly."

Try to uninstall and re-install the Audio driver. Because the sound driver of your PC might no longer detecting the previous settings that you have.

My audio is not working

Check that your sound is not muted. If it isnt, or isnt showing then go into control panel-> sound devices and check that you have driver installed or is working properly. If there is no audio codec, install it from your motherboard disc.If it isnt working properly, uninstall the sound driver and reboot laptop.Sound drivers should reinstall

Trying to hook up a TV to my Dell inspiron 1420 PC using s-video to composite and there is no output on the TV. I borrowed an expensive converter which works perfectly so the computer IS set up properly...

that actually isnt a true svideo port. it does output video, but it needs a converter that dell sells for about 30 bucks (ebay is cheaper). it plugs directly into the "s-video" port on the computer and splits it off into both an svideo connection and an rca connection.

No sound

To troubleshoot a no sound issue first you must check your device manager to make sure the audio device is installed properly.

To goto the device manager in XP:
Right click my computer>Properties > Hardware Tab > Device manager.

Look for your audio device in the list under "Sound, Video and game controllers". If it has a exclamation mark or question mark beside it you will need to download the most recent drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Next step is to goto
start>programs>accessories>entertainment>volume control
make sure that Wave nor Master Volume is not muted, and both are turned up.

Third step is to check for onboard volume control, there might be volume controls on the system hardware itself.

If you say that external speakers work and not the built in speakers, then the headphone jack that you plug the speakers into may be defective. As it is always detecting something plugged into it and never turns the internal speakers on.
