Remove the rear cover on the unit and see if the belt is loose. It should not stretch more than 3/4" when you pull on it. There may be an adjusting bolt on the motor to tighten the belt. Disconnect power before working on the unit!! You should have an owners manual for this unit. Check it for further information.

How do I change the dryer belt

You need to take the front cover off by lifting the top and removing 2 screws and remove the 2 screws on the bottom, pull the front cover off the drum will fall. just slip the old belt off and put the new one on and leave the belt loose until you replace the front cover. Then hook the belt around the motor and tension er . By the way before your take it apart ,note how the tentioner is placed.

Washer is not agitating in whites and slowly in colors. What and how do we troubleshoot?

1) Verify a circuit breaker isn't tripped

2) Advance the timer control dial slowly 360 degrees-

If the washer starts spinning, then we know the motor and drive belt are fine but that there is something wrong with either the timer control dial or the agitator solenoid. Call in a professional for this.

If the washer doesn't budge, then verify that the drive belt(s) is attached and not broken by removing the back panel. If the belt is broken, replace it. If it is loose, then tighten it by loosening up the bolt holding the motor and moving it on its swingarm (much like a car alternator) until there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection in the belt.
Some washers use reversing motors. It's possible the motor works on the spin cycle but not on the wash cycle. If so, call a pro.

3) Visually inspect the lid safety switch- Is it loose or cracked? If so, the washer might work intermittently, stopping at different cycles.

4) Check motor and drive belt- Remove the main access panel (usually in the back). Is the motor spinning, but the drive belt isn't? If so, then you have a drive belt problem.

The spin cycle is very slow. how do i tighten the belt?

there is no adjustment that can be made.either your motor windings are weak and causing the tub to spin slowly.or the transmission bearings are going out causeing extra tension and slowing it down.
you could have a bad belt as well over time they do get a little stretched and become loose on the pulleys.

Hey bud, i replaced my kenmore washer with a new coupler, but still it will not spin??

inspect under the washer. look at springs for broken or one that may have come loose. inspect drive belt for broken or off pulleys. the drive belt is not turning pulleys, belt maybe broke or outa pulley grooves. or belt tension springs are broken or unhooked. good luck!!

We have a stackable kenmore washer and dryer. The belt started to slip and smoke on a heavy wash load. I replace the belt but it still smokes and wont spin. Is there and adjustment?

Hi, There are no adjustments. Make sure the pulley on the idler and the drive pulley are tirning freely. It is possible the transmission is locked up and the belt will not turn properly.
If all the pulleys are free, start the washer in the spin cycle while watching the drive pulley to see if it turns.
Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Stackable washer/dryer

hi..
When your dryer drum isn’t turning anymore, it’s usually a broken belt. Tearing the dryer apart is usually straight-forward enough but stringing the new belt on the motor and idler pulley can be tricky. The Complete Encyclopedia of Dryer Belt Configurations shows the belt configurations for almost every dryer brand you can think of.

this will fix ur problem..
