I have a FANTO DRIVES 300GB device, i tried to use it yesterday and it didn't work,
Here is what happens, I plug the power supply to the wall and turn my hard drive every thing came on, I plugged the USB in to my computer and it didn't download, all i can hear is the hard drive going TIC..TIC...TIC, can you help me please.
Re: I can't download from my FD device to my computer
Make sure that your power supply is ok, I mean to say that check the connction. If it is ok then check that you are giving the actual power input to your hard drive. Don't connct the hard drive again. First check the power supply to the wall is having the same out put that required by the hard drive as input. Let me know the result.

The USB Isn,t supplying/providing enough Power to the device.
Search e-bay or similar for a 2 into 1 USB Cable.
Then power the unit with 2 USB Ports on the Computer.
2 x USB Into 2 x Sockets On P.C. 1 x Into Device Drive.
This will be enough power to operate the Device Correctly.
I,ve done this on several external Drives, never failed for Me.
Hi, you may want to try connecting it by USB if you're currently using firewire or the other way around and see if it works. If this fails, you are probably better off using diagnostics by Seagate @ http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=7f4e19e0babfd010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD&locale=en-US#.
Try to use the Troubleshooting or FAQ or if you feel comfortable using their utilities, download SeaTools.
Hope this be of help to you. Good luck.
