Hello Fixya Guru ! I am in the process of installing several Marley PLF series 2000 watt/ 240 volt electric "Hydronic" baseboard heaters. I am using 10/3 bx with a 30amp breaker. To my...

You are correct that these heaters use a two-wire 240 volt supply, and the neutral is not needed.

2000 watts = 240 volt x Amps ==> Amps = 8.3 amps

30 amps x .8 safety factor = 24 amps

24 amps / 8.3 amps = 2.9 heaters per 30 amp breaker (3 heaters should be okay)

More info, pls let me know.

P.S. Where does the 2880-watt number come from ?

P.P.S. There has to be a ground bus-bar in the panel -- if it's a main panel (not a sub-panel) the ground buss and the neutral buss are connected in the panel. Could you clarify what you have in the panel.

My 500 Watt Electic Baseboard heater ticks all the time, what can I do to stop this. Thank You

More than likely, the ticking is caused by the heating element ... expanding and shrinking as it gets hot and then cools off. You might get rid of some of it if you will gently lift the element and insert a small piece of fiberglass between the element and the element rest. If this noise annoys you ... maybe you can turn the radio up? :-) Don't use any other kind of material for this job.

I hope you find this suggestion helpful ...

Marley B2451 wall heater

These are only 1500 watt heaters.

They 'could' heat a 20 x 20 foot room (with good, tight construction), with a slow temperture rise.

How far off the floor do i install hot water baseboard heaters

When you install the baseboard heater make sure the bottom part which is the all thing must sit over the floor and touch the tiles or carpet and use 2 or 3 wood screw against the wall. That is it and do not put any kind of paper or cotton or material things above the cover. Beside that you are ok and it is not like an electric wall heater.
