Whe I start my pc a small window says the installer failed to exit a running instance of magic jack

I think magic jack relates to your sound driver/device. I would try removing and re-installing your sound driver. If you let me know your model of computer or sound card I may even be able to provide a download link for the drivers.

Can't load any program

download parted magic or kill disk and wipe the drive completely/ then reinstall your o/s. Once a machine is in this condition then going back to blank state is best option I think.

2 xp computers don't see each other on home network (used to), and both of them see the Windows 7 computer but won't let me access it from either one (deny permission). I am the admin on the whole network.

networking across operating system platforms can be tricky. particularly using windows networking settings. if you don't mind spending a little money an aftermarket program that is darned near automatic and extremely easy to setup and use is called network magic.

How can i find my ip address to my arris tm602g modem

I would expect that unless you are a commercial account, your service provider assigns your IP dynamically. What that means is every time you cycle your router, you get a new address - though your "new" address may be the same as the "old" address, that is incidental to DHCP.

If you really want to know what it is at any given time, I recommend you get Network Magic from Cisco. As a matter of fact, you should probably get this software anyway. It is free to eval for 7 days and will assist in security issues, connectivity and sharing as well as many other things like finding out the IP addresses you seek. Read the deal while at the site. To find it, search "Network Magic" using your favorite search engine.

We re booted the computer and have to use a usb

Not sure what the problem is, but from what i am reading i am suprised that anything worked at all. A modem jack in your computer is for telephone lines, and the cable modem needs a cat 5 network cable as well as a ethernet card attatched to your computer. ethernet card in your computer cat5 cable runs from the card to the cable modem. Magic jack requires a usb connection as well as a broadband connection to work.

It sounds like you can't connect via wireless? In that case Network Magic won't display the connection.

How can I get my computer to remain in standby mode overnight?

You are correct as regards ccApp, this is the norton antivirus apllication running in the background and stopping the process will stop the constant monitoring. Just double check the power options are as they should be in control panel and if you want you can turn off norton for a set period of time by right clicking the icon in the taskbar and dissable it, the options for a set time should then appear. You can also check in the bios F2 or Del on start up and in the advanced cmos settings look for the line 'Wake On Lan' and maybe dissable it if you are on a wired network, save settings and exit. Remember also if you have an optical mouse they are more sensitive to noise or vibration or movement and will wake your pc.
